Silver Glittery Stuff on Scalp

This spot toward the front of my scalp heals, then breaks open periodically...it's been there for over a year or two if I remember correctly, broke open the other night. There is a larger area under this spot that has some substance or thing in it. It felt like this stuff was all trying to come out at once, and was very painful. When I looked up close it looked as if ...well, as if there were two small ponytails sticking out..like they were antenna...it was really, really strange. I had put a thick layer of coconut oil on my scalp all night the night before and it must have softened my scalp up quite a bit. I couldn't seem to get anything out, so I put a thick layer of D.E. on it and left it over night. This morning there was a thick, clear, dried substance that had oozed out of the wound, and there is now a red circle on my scalp. I plan on putting some more coconut oil on my scalp again tonight and see if I can get more out tomorrow. If anyone knows what this is, please send me an email or something. I am in the dark about so much that is going on, so shedding a little light would be great. It's also disturbing to me that my hair is starting to move on it's own at times..like the fibers you see moving on those videos. D.E. usually produces this effect. I have noticed that my hair has changed color a little, and seems thicker and more wiry than it was before.
