poem I wrote to express myself after another verbal exchange with my mother

Family of blood
Does nothing but fight
You martyr yourself
on a cross of your own
and make miserable all in your home.
Full of bitterness, hate, and rejection of all you don't understand ..
You bury yourself like an ostrich
Your head so far in the sand
I did not live up to your dreams and hopes
Daring instead to learn my own ropes...live my own life..think my own thoughts...
Your poisonous tongue spews criticism and hurts instead of helps
If those who know you really knew you they'd be in shock
you've been hiding all your life and believe your own lies...
You blame me
a child of date rape
for the course of your life
and your chosen fate...
I've waited my whole life for you to change
To be accepted and loved
not your living shame
I give up that dream today
I no longer need your acceptance
Your "I don't cares" tell me just who you are...
Maybe you should read that Bible again ...I think you've missed the whole point
I will not be your sin eater any more
Open up wide mother dear
I do hope your hungry
