Hello fellow FNLers...
Below is announcement for the New Roots summer CSA. For those of you who don't know the IRC or the farmers we support...I really hope you'll check it out!
Your support can really make a difference this year as participating farmers struggle to establish their fledgling farm businesses. This is food justice in action folks, so do what you can to get involved!
Thanks for all you do,
Ellee
Sign up for the IRC’s Refugee Summer CSA is now open via Rescue.org/sdCSA. Reap the benefits of tasty produce, a healthy environment, and a chance to make a living for an aspiring refugee farmer! Please see the attached brochure for details and feel free to share this announcement with your friends, family, neighbors and professional networks.
You can now join the popular CSA (community supported agriculture) program for the summer season and receive a colorful share of farm-fresh and local vegetables grown by refugee farmers participating in IRC’s sustainable agriculture program. Cost per week is only $16 (half share) or $21.50 (full share). Expect around 8 (half share) or 12 (full share) items each week, including terrific tomatoes, excellent eggplant, scrumptious summer squash, juicy watermelons and cantaloupe, beautiful beets, and much more.
The harvest starts June 20. Each week, you can pick up your share in City Heights, North Park or El Cajon or get it delivered to your home/school/office (minimum six participants for delivery).
For all the details and to sign up, please visit Rescue.org/sdCSA and contact me with any questions you may have.
