I thought I was gone
I want to capture the magic that happened...
Today is Friday, March 15, 2013. The sun in starting to go lower toward the west. There is a meeting of the GMO Labeling So Cal Group Sunday in LA. I want to go, but I have not started to process the opportunities that came up from attending the Natural Product Expo West 2013.
I am coming out of an extreme Winter. I had low immune system most of it. I seemed to catch whatever was near me. I wasn't sure I was going to be able to go to the show until a few days before I left.
The Natural Product Expo West is the beginning of my season. That is how I see it. It comes right before Spring.
This winter I missed many outings, and the feedback that comes when I have something to give. At the Natural Product Expo West, I feel really seen.
I have been coming to this show for about 10-15 years perhaps.
I was passing an elevator in the Hilton. it was closing. Someone said excitedly, "There goes the Enchanted Gardener!" I have a personality that needs that kind of attention. It's just the way I am wired.
On Thursday, I did photos from the Organic Farming Research Foundation. They have a lovely luncheon each year. I was filled by then.
Then, I was in the press room, playing with some folks. I realized suddenly, that I did not have my cell phone! I had lost it.
This would have been my second major loss in two days. The day before my entire Notebook, with all my laminations prepared for the show, disappeared off a table at the Nutracon Event. This was shocking, but I did not have time too much time to spend time on that.
The next morning was the GMO Panel, one of the highlights of the show. That meeting turned my head around. I will show some photos later.
THE RETURN OF MY CELL PHONE
The return of my cell phone was a profound healing experience.
I walked back toward the room where the Organic Farming Research Foundation luncheon was held. The room was broken down by then. There was one pile of garbage on the floor.
I looked closely to see if my cell phone was there. It wasn't.
Then I walked back to the kitchen. There were two women who crossed my path. They came for some flowers that were being stored from the luncheon. There was a man there who was helping them. I said out loud, " Do you have a lost and found? I lost my cell phone."
At this point, one of the women, who was from the Organic Farming Research foundation said, "I found your Cell Phone!"
She said that I left it on the registration table. THe phone had no battery left. She could not call me.
I followed the two women to their booth. She returned the phone to me.
It was shortly after, that she said she had to get to the White Tent for the end of The Fresh Ideas Day, another great highlight of the Natural Product Expo West.
I took her lead and started to head in that direction.
By that time, I was feeling chipper.
In route, I saw Steven Hoffman, the moderator of the morning GMO panel. He was standing was a man who recognized me. It was Thomas B Harding.
I took a photo of the two of them.
I had a strong feeling that I would make contact with Thomas again.
WORKING WITH MY CALENDAR
On the Sunday of the show, I spent a number of hours with Paul Wallace. He heads the National Heirloom Expo September 10-11-12, 2013 in Santa Rosa, CA. I made it to that show last year in the Enchanted Garden Mobile, my 68 VW Van.
YESTERDAY WAS ANOTHER SHOCKING DAY
yesterday was another shocking day. I turned in the EG Mobile for some work on the shifter. Mike called me in the afternoon to tell me that I needed a new transmission. That would take all the money I have in my account right now.
Gratefully, there are funds promised from sponsors of some of my projects that I will do this year.
I am writing now to get my balance back.
My thoughts are on Thomas B Harding Jr.
I want to know more about him.
