His dad,Maurice Moore, and his mom Dolly, were important to me when I was a kid. His grandma, was our neighbor on second street, across from where we lived. She was a good friend to our family. She lives in the my childhood memories of life in Boyle Heights.
What a sweet body feeling remembering her, the mother of Dolly.
Her son, was an inventor. That would have been Dolly's brother. He made a gun toy of some kind, I remember. He died at a young age. The mother grieved. We had a real community around us when I was very little.
There were other neighbors that we continued to know when we all moved from the neighborhood. Who today keeps in touch like that.
Neighbors really became friends and looked out for each other.
