Once upon a time, in the History of Peace on Earth, Humanity lost control of its food and forgot that each person not only had the Right to Know what we were eating, but each person had the Know How to Grow Some of their own Food. When I was a kid, Home Economics was something taught in the schools. The school teacher, more than an Advertising Executive or Marketing Campaign, determined the eating habits of the nation.
There was once a time of prosperity in America, when we lived by the Ethics of a Song called, "America the Beautiful."
The Words to the song, America The Beautiful came to Katharine Lee Bates, a teacher, when she Felt the Beat of Nature Looking Out at Pikes Peak in 1893
The words to the song "America The Beautiful" came to Katharine Lee Bates when she felt the inspiration of nature. In a similar manner, I believe that we each will have similar inspirations as we return to the Beat of Nature. In doing so we will have the strength and fortitude to live by the Ethics of the Song. It takes backbone to live a life that is not "selfish," that has our Soul in the driver's seat of our lives, and a Voice of unique self expression that he helping live out a "Patriot's Dream."
The intent of this book, "Grow A Healthier Pizza" is being written with this dream in mind: We shall again see a day, when America is prosperous. We shall see a time when people across the nation-will have regained their beat with nature. "Grow A Healthier Pizza!" is such a calling out from Nature.
This journey begins as we each become again Sacred Gardeners of the American Dream. This journey begins with seeds and dreams in hand.
THIS BOOK TRACES A JOURNEY BACK HOME TO OUR GRASSROOTS AS AMERICANS
"Grow A Healthier Pizza!" is our cry. Grow A Healthier Pizza is a metaphor. It means grow some of our own food that We, The People, become once again the most powerful Special Interest determining the fate and future of our Government.
This book takes a brief look at how other Special Interests have come to dominate the affairs of Government, to the point where, we as a nation, and a people are now in a Food Emergency that is the cornerstone of creating a need for massive reeducation.
This book, "Grow A Healthier Pizza," is a call for Food Reform. It is an honoring of Heroes whose story needs to be retold and reawakened.
It is also a story of my own participation in the movement to return our world to sanity. We will wake up one morning in a world that has triumphed over GMO Proliferation, I saw this because if Nature is to prevail, and if we as Sacred Seeds are to Survive This Day, this is our mandate.
To this end, this book takes a brief look at Prop 37, The Label Genetically Engineer Food Act of 2012. I participated in that campaign with heart and soul, as did many others.
Building a Grassroots Movement
If we are to live in a world beyond GMO's we are going to have to build a Grassroots Movement of gardeners who have regained their beat with nature.
This book shows images of various activities I have done with adults, Youth and children and my work called "Plant Your Dream" that aims to help us regain our beat with nature.
This Book Suggests Activities you can do to Regain Your Beat with Nature
This book suggests various activities you can do, and do with children. that involve growing some of my various seeds I love. These activities include growing the grain of Ancient wheat called KAMUT® Brand Khorasan wheat,,and various Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds.
I grow this grain and seeds in our own Enchanted Garden Intentional Community at home in San Diego.
At home, I am establishing an Enchanted Garden Baker Creek Heirloom Seed outpost stored in a 100-year old secretary wooden piece of furniture that was part of my inheritance from my father, Rev. Solomon Goldman;
This book also has some healthier pizza and pastry recipes
Part of my inheritance is also an old recipe book of my mother Ann Goldman with some of her delicious recipes that will be "upgraded" a bit with organic healthy ingredients.
The book also includes our the journey to Grow A Healthier Pizza, taking seeds and grains and turning them into ingredients to transform a nation to better eating habits through making a Healthier Pizza.
My Story and Your Story
In this book I share my own life journey and projects to return our earth to being an Enchanted Garden. More than being about my story, I would like to inspire you to regain confidence that you can grow some of your own food, and help through your unique Voice and dreams, to return America the Beautiful.

Many Voices from the Past, Present, and Future have inspired this book. Among them, I begin by underscoring the messages from Alfred W. McCann, Dr. Harvey W. Wiley M.D.: Dr. Bernard Jensen, Edmond Bordeuax Szekely, Luther Burbank; and Deborah Szekely, founder of the Wellness Warrior Movement.
It was Dr. Bernard Jensen, my spiritual father, who led me to the work of Alfred McCann and Luther Burbank, among many other Voices that I name in Chapter Four of this Book.
It was Dr. Harvey W. Wiley who inspired the idea for the Pure Food and Drug Law of 1906 that led to the creation of the Food and Drug Administration. My Seed Dream is that the FDA be guided by the principles that Dr. Harvey W; Wiley M.D. would have wanted and wrote about.
Edmond Bordeaux Szekely was the cofounder with Deborah Szekely of Rancho La Puerta, the Number One destination spa in the world located in Tecate, Mexico. It has here that the Professor Szekely established what was called the Essene School of Life where the ancient grain of wheat was very much honored, cultivated, and made into fresh bread.
It was The Professor who first inspired me about the ancient grain of wheat, and Bob Quinn of KAMUT ® International who brought alive my relationship to the profound teacher inherent in a simple grain of wheat.
KEEPING THE DREAM ALIVE AND DR BERNARD JENSENS REQUEST OF ME
My first "job" out of college was with Dr. Bernard Jensen. I say "Job" because for the first six months after college i left the city of Los Angeles and came to his Hidden Valley Health Ranch in the hills of Escondido where Nature ruled.
He gave me assignments, but for the first six months, he left me alone to find myself in nature, and make sense of arthritis that was already beginning to cripple me. He would lecture on Tuesday, Saturday, and Sundays. At the end of hearing his first talk, he gave me a ride home to a cabin where I stayed. It was on that ride, knowing my abilities as a journalist, that he told me to follow in the footsteps of Alfred W. McCann, a much racker and truth teller who was invested in Food Reform in America.
It is in the spirit of that promise, and to reawakening the principles of health that he taught, that I dedicate this book to Dr. Bernard Jensen.

NOVEMBER 2012
Each late Fall my most significant end of the year conference is the Pacific Symposium, a gathering of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners from around the world. Each year, the notebook for the Symposium contains a poem and a picture of the Gift of Art I give to the school in San Diego. This is the Poem that went into the Notebook for the 2012 Pacific Symposium.
We will wake up one morning
in a Post GMO world with smiles on our faces.
We will have returned our earth to sanity.
We will have claimed the Right to Know
what is in our food.
We will Know we were born
to grow some of our own food
and to support local Farmers
who say “Happiness is Organic!”
because we are a Friend of the Farm.
Health Practitioners will point
to a Nation whose people are
no longer Genetically Modified.
We will see gardens planted with heirloom seeds.
We will come to partake
of the purest of water.
We will see with real eyes see that we--all of us-- are growing
in the same Pot called Planet Earth. Nature says Plant Your Dream!
When we hear this message, we will be free of adversaries
who decided they would grow “Food” that doesn’t feed our Soul.
The World that we knew--the Economy we imagined working--
is worth no more now than dead old dollar bills turned by Eden Foods into pencils.
Abundance will Grow with us no longer complaining,
blaming or banking on a bankrupt system.
Our Voices will be heard. Our Noble Visions for America The Beautiful will be seen.
We are here to Grow A Healthier Pizza. I see this world coming.
We are each destined to be its Gardener.
