Coexisting with Coyotes, Project Coyote-Camilla Fox
I met Camilla Fox during my 65th Birthday week at Rancho La Puerta. I was drawn to her remarkable work, The Coyote Project.
We have coyote's in the Arosa Canyon--next to our 1/3 acre near San Diego State University. to see a coyote from a distance in our backyard is a wonderful site. I love to hear them howling. There is a pack that raises their voices when sirens are heard at a distance. They travel to different parts of the canyon, their voice tells me.
Yesterday, I was talking about species that have died out. It was brought to my attention that Coyotes are thriving in areas across America where they ware not known before. They are mating with wolves and creating a new subspecies, I hear.
Camilla's project is all about co-existing with Coyotes.
She told me it was not a good idea to put my lamb bones out back for them.
It trains them to look for food in the wrong places.
Did you know that coyotes eat fruit?
Camilla showed video of coyote's leaping up to get figs!
A WONDERFUL PROJECT TO SUPPORT
