fast overview. Reasons to do it

There was a point in my life when I believed fasting meant starving. I thought skipping meals was just skipping meals not another form of fasting. I've been researching fasting for over a year now and the benefits derived from it are rather intriguing. While I have yet to learn if fasting helps schizoaffective disorder Im hoping it will atleast bring clarity to my situation. I also have IBS, arthritis, stenosis, and PMDD.
Several weeks ago i fasted for 60 hours. Not long but even with that i felt healthier than 60 hours before. I've also done a couple 24 hours dry fasts. Not a big difference other than I no longer felt like a balloon. I've decided now to do a month's worth of "intermittent fasting" as a way to train myself for larger fasts. Monday - Wednesday I will eat but only from 2pm - 10pm. Thursday and Sunday I will water fast. And Friday and Saturday I will dry fast. this being for the next 4 weeks. After which I will change it up. Today is Wednesday and my fasting begins tomorrow! Wish me luck!
