Arundo Donax Report, January 2012
The #1 moneymaking use of Arundo Donax in San Diego County January 2012 may be calling it an invasive plant and then killing it with Roundup Herbicide. The Giant Reed, with so many amazing uses, is called trash now. It is delivered to the Landfill at $63.00 a ton to take up space. It is not even chipped for mulch. We are setting out to prove that is possible here in our experiments.
It is January 21, 2012. I was called out this morning to pick up some Job's Tear's necklaces. Linda was at the Mingei Museum Bead Society of San Diego County Meeting held the Third Saturday of the month at the Mingei Museum in Balboa Park. Her work with the Job's Tears was lovely. I wasn't sure why I was here. Then I saw taking one step closer to the Exhibit idea: The 102 Uses of Arundo Donax as a museum exhibit. This would be educational.
