Reducing Pesticide and Chemical Exposure in Restaurants
Reducing Pesticide and Chemical Exposure in Restaurants.
This Plant Your Dream Blog introduces the issue of Chemical Body Burden and the dangers now facing infants and pregnant mothers, and those wanting to dine out and know they are safe doing so.
Restaurants want to do better. The use of harsh chemicals to clean and exterminate flying insects has been a big issue.
Now the No Fly Zone TT has some workable solutions that can have an impact on lowering our harsh use of chemicals in the Food Service arena.

GOAL
TRANSFORM THE FOOD SERVICE ENVIRONMENT FROM A NO FLY ZONE
FOR FLYING BUGS MANAGED WITH HARSH CHEMICALS
TO A NO FLY ZONE TT (TM) THAT IS
ENVIRONMENTALLY SAFE
Restaurants, for more than a quarter century, have sought to create a no fly zone for flying bug problems. The joys of dining have made it necessary for these establishments to go to war against bugs through the use of extermination, often applying harsh chemicals.
The results are in. We now have what is being called a chemical body burden.. Babies are now showing up with pesticides in utero. Pregnant mothers are carrying toxic overload.
This chemical body burden is prevalent through our bioterrain, a name for our internal as well as external environment. Bees are dying. soil are depleted from herbicide and pesticide use that was thought safe, but is now showing itself as dangerous.
A whole new way of thinking was needed, and it is now here.
Thanks to tony tracy, the no fly zone dilemma is now with the advance of the no fly zone tt. this is an advance that brings cutting edge new technology to create a green restaurant environment.
TONY TRACY'S NEW MISSION 2012
Reducing the Chemical Body Burden is now on the plate of tony tracy.
Tony was alerted to the problem of chemicals in the restaurant environment years ago. Many harsh chemicals are used to keep the restaurant clean and meeting customer expectations.
There is an international trend to go more and more less toxic, and tony tracy is riding the crest of helping those in the food services arena find non toxic, environmentally friendly solutions.
Many upscale restaurants will benefit, as well as spa and places where the chemical load has been harming people, animal life, and the environment.

Restaurants are required to control their infestations
of fruit flies and other pests or they will be cited
Restaurants are required to have professional control. this is costly. many restaurants have a big headache because of this problem of violations and the threat of violations.
Their is a pervasive problem of chemical exposure in restaurants because of the use of toxic chemicals.
Restaurants needed to find a way out of their environmental chemical soup
Here are indications of the problem:
My Kitchen Restaurant in Forest Hills, Queens, received a combined score of 92 for violations that included flies, vermin and contaminated food. but owner galik ambarsom said the health department goes too far.

RESTAURANTS HAVE BEEN GAINING A REPUTATION OF BEING UNSAFE
From an article,
It is Unsafe to Eat Restaurant Food
In the modern era, it is almost impossible to live healthily, because chemical companies are waiting to poison us from multiple angles. laundry products leave toxic residue on our clothing, and drying agents leave poisonous chemical residue all over our dinnerware. dangerous chemicals make direct contact with us through various avenues, and yet some sources still wonder (or feign ignorance about) why our cancer, diabetes, and alzheimer's disease rates are constantly on the rise.
Unnecessary chemicals are used in most households, and restaurants for the sake of convenience. it is like dealing with the devil. there will be a high price to be paid if you follow the mindless herd; sooner or later. first, you will pay with your health, then your financial ruin, and then you will finally pay with your early demise. some of the restaurant drying agents even contain synthetic chemical fragrances, and we did not even bother with the topic of toxic chemical 'sanitizers' that are likely to get into contact with the foods at restaurants yet. by covering the topic of drying agents, we are actually writing about a safer set of chemicals. save yourself and your family by cooking.

Many swank restaurants with many health violations are still open
In spite of increasing violations, many swank restaurants with many health violations are still open, report alexis jeffries and leonard green in the new york post, july 2011.
It's enough to make you barf before you even take a bite of your $23 mac and cheese.
Because of a technicality in the law, restaurants can stay open despite accumulating a sickening amount of health department violations.
"the inspector looked at every single bottle, and she found one fruit fly in a bottle of peach schnapps, and she gave me a $500 fine," ambarsom said. "these guys are ruining my business."

The Pesticide Problem
Dr. Alan Greene Reports
from ia summary report from the organic center.
from a summary report from dr alan greene
of the organic center
You will learn that the average american is exposed to 10 to 13 pesticide residues each day from food, beverages, and drinking water. the levels and risks are very low in most instances. but this is not always the case. some of these exposures pose clear risks, particularly when they occur during pregnancy, the first years of life, during other vulnerable periods.

Their are so many pesticides being used that the EPA no longer keeps records of how big the problem is
Although the U.S. Environmental Protection A gency was established in 1970 Pesticide use has increased 50-fold since 1950 and 2.3 million tonnes (2.5 million short tons) of industrial pesticides are now used each year.[62] Seventy-five percent of all pesticides in the world are used in developed countries, but use in developing countries is increasing.[18]
In 2001 the epa stopped reporting yearly pesticide use statistics.

The Chemical Body Burden is Alarming
This is from 2005:
No extensive study has considered the chemical body burden of Canadians, although separate studies have reported the presence of individual compounds -- for example, research documenting a dramatic rise of PCBS in breast milk.
more wide-ranging studies have been done in the united states.
In one, researchers found at an average of 91 "industrial compounds, pollutants and chemicals" in the blood and urine of nine volunteers and a total of 167 chemicals in the group. according to the research, conducted by mount sinai school of medicine in new york with the environmental working group, "76 cause cancer in humans or animals, 94 are toxic to the brain or nervous system, and 79 cause birth defects or abnormal development." none of the people tested worked with chemicals or lived near an industrial facility.

EXPOSED: THE TOXIC CHEMISTRY OF EVERYDAY PRODUCTS AND WHAT’S AT STAKE FOR AMERICAN POWER
by mark schapiro (chelsea green publisher)
about Mark Schapiro's Book
A SHIFT HAS HAPPENED AROUND THE WORLD
BUT THE US IS NOT PAYING ATTENTION
Schapiro takes the reader inside the global power shift that has gone almost wholly unreported in the united states, exposing not only the health and environmental consequences of this shift, but its implications for the american economy. he demonstrates how the environmental progress underway in europe is prompting innovation and enabling their firms to beat american companies in the global competition for markets—markets that are becoming increasingly sensitive to environmental and health concerns.

breakthrough for wine tasting rooms
the No fly Zone TT (TM) is already being seen as a major breakthrough among Northern California wineries where managing fruit flies in wine tasting rooms and around vats has been a problem, Tony Tracy tells me.
WINERIES HAVE FLYING BUG ISSUES
When visiting a winery during harvest, there a couple of things to watch for—a complete lack of fruit flies in a tasting room that is near the cellar or crushpad probably means the winery is employing chemical bombs at night.
