One Change That Could Save
A Million Dollars
When you consider the environmental benefits of retreading, that green
picture gets even greener. Each of those retreads also represents a savings
or 15 gallons of oil. In this economy, the dollar savings definitely gets top
billing. That being said, being a good environmental citizen is always the
right thing to do. •

Each year, retreading tires saves more than 400 million gallons of oil in North America. While it takes 22 gallons of oil to make a new tire, retreading a truck tire only uses seven gallons of oil. Retreaded tires can also help divert thousands of scrap tires from disposal each year.
Retread tires whenever appropriate and feasible.
Purchase retreaded tires for tires that are 16 inches or greater.
