An average American uses 50 pounds (23 kg) of tissue paper
per year which is 50% more than the average of Western countries or Japan.[15] Millions of trees are harvested in North America and in Latin American countries leaving ecological footprint concerns.[16]
Americans also use "toilet paper" for industrial purposes
such as oil filters,[17] which may distort the usage statistics.

One of my lead projects for the HIllcrest Farmers' Market
would be to advance Zero Waste.
I made some progress on this
at the June 12 Market.
I introduced the ZeroTree to
David Larsen, our Farmers' Market Manager,
to ZeroTree, a wonderful product from
my sponsor BioSmart Packaging.
For a large business such at the HIllcrest Farmers' Market
cost is a major factor, but as my ally
DAnn Caravan says, we need a triple bottom
line that looks at people, and planet, as well
as profit.
DAnn is heading up an exciting project
called Hillcrest GoesGreener.
I want to encourage Ben Nichols and all the great
people at the Hillcrest Business Association to get behind
DAnn so we can get some national press about
Hillcrest Farmers' Market as being a trendsetter
that all Farmers' Markets watch.
Truly, it is a joy to serve the Hillcrest Farmers' Market,
standing alongside numbers of organic farmers
and great creative products.
SHIFT HAPPENS
Truly we are in a time of a mandate when all those
in favor of life, love, and organic are being asked to show
their support.
We all need to put differences aside and show
that from organic stakeholders to grassroots we are one
united movement.
We can claim a Tipping point now if we all work together
to educate and transform.
Today, as I read the news, I see that the Washington Post
has a written where they are calling for a moratorium on
organic food.
This is a sign, from my point of view, of the intense pressure
the Biotech and conventional farming industry is feeling from
increase profits going to the Organic side. This is part of the
PR campaign to hold us back.
The old does not go away without a taste of something better.
Locally grown organic and beyond food, and products that
expand the organic agenda are our allies. It is the nature
of the consolidation with the organic industry that there
are big companies who now have organic interests.
It is a time, when all who want organic, from grassroots to
organic stakeholders, need to work together.
Let's not beat up the organic companies and their leaders
for being part of the inevitable movement that comes
when more and more people business leaders
get involved who may be knew to the organic way.
I am referring here to the internet documentary
called Organic Spies Find Lies that is now gathering
about 1000 viewers a day. The documentary, that
I find full of misinformation, and possible disinformation,
targets the Organic Trade Association with claims of
corruption that I find unfounded, yet the case they are building
is easy to stir up emotions.
ORGANIC IS IN
AND ANYTHING NEW IS AUTOMATICALLY OPPOSED
My mentor Dr. Bernard Jensen said that "anything new is automatically
opposed." Today, we have the old terrifically supported with
massive PR campaigns and funding, so if we allow our ranks
to be divided we are missing the target.
BACK TO THE TOILET PAPER
I am calling ZeroTree the toilet paper
for when the Shift Happens.
On that merit alone, I would get some of this mighty toilet
paper dedicated to the Great Earth Cleanup.

ROSIE' RENTALS
Rosie's rental has the contract
for the porta Potties that we have at the
Hillcrest Farmer's Market.
I spoke to them a couple months ago.
We are having a lot of waste each week
that goes to the landfill.
This is all going to change as we
get BioSmart Packaging in use by the vendors.
I am asking all shoppers to the Hillcrest Farmers' Market
to ask the vendors to use the BioSmart takeout containers
and ask for them from our great food vendors.

and looking for support for the HIllcrest Business Association.
She advises to do a cost survey between
the conventional toilet paper, i.e, Costco,
Seventh Generation, and Zero Tree.
