Kelly Shea, Vice President, Organic Stewardship & Government and Industry Relations for WhiteWave Foods, is responsible for planning and directing the organization's policies, objectives, and initiatives regarding organic and legislative issues. Shea is the leader of the Horizon Organic Producer Education (HOPE), created in 2001 to further the organic industry by assisting farmers transitioning to organic, providing current farmers with information on grazing, animal welfare and land restoration and supporting organizations that benefit family farms.

Last year Bob Scowcroft pleaded with the Organic community to engage next generation farmers. Half of all U.S. farmers are predicted to retire in the next decade, with no one to pass on their land or skills. From inner-city urban farming programs to agriculture grants for returning war veterans, how can we expand opportunities for the next generation of farmers to move Organic forward?
