In all honesty I have to confess that
this "Quote Unquote" docufantasy by
an masked one himself/herself
Organic Spies has gotten under my skin
and sent me on a journey to defend
two on my favorite organic Stewards:
Julia Sabin and Kelly Shea.
THE WHOLE STORY STARTED
WITH THIS LITTLE DOCUMENTARY
NOW GATHERING UP STEAM ON THE INTERNET
I was dragged kicking and screaming into
a whole day of attentiveness June to this story that began
yesterday afternoon
with an innocent viewing on the Stonyfield FB site
and chicking on this link.

This Youtube, that I watched at least once,
caused my garden to go
unattended and screaming for water today.
The Organic Sky Chaser would never have
never gotten under my skin if I did not consider
Julia Sabin and Kelly Shea two of the most
gifted of organic industry leaders.
Any harm to them or their reputation
feels personal right now and an assault on
the organic industry itself that does not benefit
from infighting.
I shudder to think of the consequences
of sidelining two of our A Team stars
due to the disinformation campaign
of this Amazing Masked man
presumably out to defend the public good.
Who needs Monsanto against you when you
can have The Great Organic Spy Catcher
on your Team, or is he really????
MONSANTO ALLY AT WORK?
If I were the head of Monsanto's PR department
I could ask for no better gift of distraction,
at a time when we need all hands on deck to
complete a Tipping point to get our organic seeds back.
Further what better blow that to knock out
these two First String Organic Superstars.
Sabin and Shea through dividing the
Organic masses looking for someone to
blame for our organic woes.

IN MY TEN OR MORE YEAR HISTORY IN RELATING TO THE
ORGANIC TRADE ASSOCATION (OTA)...
In my ten year history relating to the OTA I have never found
the OTAmute on issues of Genetic Engineering or for that matter
the core concerns of the organic movement.
IF WE WANT TO ENCOURAGE A TIPPING POINT FOR ORGANIC
LABELING, ONE OF THE FIRST THINGS WE CAN EACH DO
...is begin to grow some of our own food so we get back our own
beat with nature. The second thing is trust those on our team,
rather than look for corruption where it likely does not exist.
Collaboration is the key to being stronger than those who
are now controlling our seeds and our destiny.

It is also clear that the Organic Trade Association (OTA),
the leading advocate for the organic agenda in Washington D.C.,
is a strong advocate for promoting the Non GMO
Pro labeling of Genetic Engineered Foods stance.

As someone that's been in the organic food business for 22+ years, I can say that this piece does have a few points that deserve consideration, though the general approach in focusing on a few board members and bending reality to fit a storyline is disingenuous. It is patently unfair to say the OTA and specifically some members of the board have intentionally obstructed efforts to ban or label GM Foods. Yes, some board members may now work for organic subsidiaries of big food companies, but most have been working for the organic divisions long before they were purchased by the parent companies.

IN CLOSING...
n my opinion, after watching the actions of Julia Sabin
for more than a decade, if there is any woman in business
today that could convert the heads of Smuckers to more of an organic
agenda,or turn the tide toward fulfilling of an Organic RIsing in each of our lives, I would bank on Julia Sabin! I have always found Julia an advocate of the organic movement and my own projects. Over the years, I have admired her generous contributions, both financial and in service, to the OTA.
