THIS I SEE AND SEED
The President, in giving free reign for GE alfalfa to be grown
without regulation January 27, 2011, set organic seeds in motion.
An entire organic movement, from organic Indusry leaders,
to the street, are being galvanized.
Organic alfalfa seeds spoke to me.
They sent me into my own Enchanted Garden to grow them.
Growing one organic beet in a pot, surrounded by organic alfalfa
seedlings is enough to turn our beat around with nature.
We do not need to continue living our lives as earth quakes
waiting to happen. Now is the time for Beet Keepers, Return!

WASHINGTON — Michelle Obama got plenty of helping hands to replant her popular garden on the South Lawn of the White House on Wednesday.
Two dozen fifth-graders from two nearby public schools were invited to help dig the soil and plop in seeds, seedlings or plants that within weeks will grow into lettuce, spinach, broccoli, cauliflower, radishes and beets, among other crops.

“There’s no way we would get this done without your help,” the first lady told the kids before everyone set upon the 1,500-square-foot plot.
Beets are new this year although President Barack Obama doesn’t like them.

I was given a United Nations Peace Medal in 1983 by Robert Muller,
then Undersecretary General of the U.N. for the work I would do
in my life. The image is the UN Peace Medal Surrounded by
beet seeds. That story is told here.

This was a photo that I took when I went looking for
the Monsanto booth at BIO 2008.
I made a friendship with a gardener from Saint Louis.
There were organic seeds of cilantro at the booth where
the cards for Monsanto were placed. I took this as a sign
of the future. Through the Dialogue on Science, Ethics, and Food
we will look at all sides of the issues of Agriculture. I believe
the future will be organic. I want to hear the real science
behind other agriculture strategies for feeding ourselves
and the world.
