Description
Rabbi Andrew Hahn, the Kirtan Rabbi, nationally known rabbi, artist, and teacher, will be a guest speaker at our Saturday morning service, and will lead a citywide “Kirtan” on Saturday night at Temple Emanuel.
Hebrew Kirtan is contemplative, ecstatic, and simply fun! Rabbi Hahn’s Hebrew Kirtan is inspired by an ancient form of devotional prayer from India. Set to the rhythmic sound of the harmonium and other percussion instruments, he will lead us in call-and-response participatory chants using sacred phrases from our tradition.
Shabbat morning service will be co-created with Rabbi Hahn, and will include meditative aspects involving body, mind and spirit. The service will be followed by light Kiddush lunch.
Citywide Kirtan Tickets: $15.00 in advance; $18 at the door.
The Kirtan Rabbi events are co-sponsored by Metivta, A Center for Contemplative Judaism.
