Ms Thomas teacher at Arroyo Pasco Charter School
and two of her students visited the Hillcrest Farmers' Market
stand of JR Organic Sunday January 18, 2011.

They were buying organic food for a comparison lunch.

They were going to do an improved version for the students
that would include organic fresh from the Hillcrest Farmers' Market.

Ms Thomas was doing a Truth in Nutrition event.

This tied in with an idea Andrew Reiff and I have been
tossing around for the upcoming Drumbeat San Diego
event February 6, 2011.

The idea is just in the Seed Dream stage,
but as I see it, for many years I have felt that the lettuce
from JR Organic wins the prize as far as the most exciting
at the Hillcrest Farmers' Market.

Most commercial lettuce in a supermarket could not complete.
By the time a head of lettuce, even organic lettuce reaches the
store shelf, a number of days have passed between it and the time
of picking.

For years, I have had this image of an ambulance that goes
to the farm and then has a fresh picked lettuce loaded in the back
and then transported to the local Farmers' Market.

The Point: Real Food Safety is based on fresh, fresh, fresh!

The lettuce at JR Organic is so fresh that you have to whisper
around it. It does not know it has been picked yet.

I will keep you posted on how the idea of the
Organic Lettuce Face Off progresses.

Andrew has a wonderful project called Good Eats San Diego
or something like that. He wants to uplevel the awareness of
locals for available organic faire.

The Drumbeat San Diego event Feb 6 will draw together
top Techies and movie makers.

I feel a highlight could be the Lettuce Face Off,
tied in with the Truth in Nutrition ideas of Ms Thomas.

NOTE TO ANDREW REIFF

Andrew,

I took the day to catch up with blogs for one of my sponsors.

I would like some energy to get this one out.

Also the idea of a BioSmart plate for the Hllcrest FM.

My next project would be to upload the
footage I did for what could be called
the Organic Lettuce Face Off or something like that.,

Something that infers a contest to see which lettuce is the best.

or the organic lettuce takes on all comers.

or the JR lettuce takes on all comers for the freshest, nost local, highest quality
in San Diego.

I made about 12 minutes of footage.

It is next up on my plate.

Ms Thomas
is a teacher at the Arroya Pasco Charter School

Two of her students and she were at the Hillcrest FM
exploring a truth in nutrition project that dovetailed into the oranic lettuce challenge. They want to compare regulat cafeteria food with
natural. Her student insisted the improved food ought to be organic.

She was excited about coming to the Drumbeat San Diego Event
February 6,

I talked to her about the students being the judges.

They were into organic at the FM on Sunday.

It is good footage.

THIS PERSON IS CHOOSING CONVENTIONAL OVER ORGANIC
