I hear you with the busy scheduling.
I am got caught up responding to one comment from a San Diego
community garden leader by writing two blogs that may not have been needed to be written.
I am totally spent in my head. My thinking is not clear right now.
It would have been better to have rested. Many pressures in the background
at home and in the need to plan for an upcoming conference.
I did not make good choices with my time, but the Huffington Post
blog was something I really wanted to pursue.
HOW DO WE EDUCATE WASHINGTON?
That is courageous too make the attempt to communicate with the senators.
We have so many days to educate the public and have them reach the senators.
In my Rock Your Soul Opera, I see them needing to sit down to a good meal of
real food.
MONSANTO
Yes, that is my Seed dream.
They give up the GMO route,
and switch.
They will likely figure out how to make money correction the mess
we have gotten into, but further fragmentation will not solve the problem.
There is a profound book called THE WHEEL OF HEALTH
that nails some of the core issues. It is available online.
"And with their whole diet they preserve the wholeness of their
health. This also we have failed to do. Our health or wholeness
has fragmented no less than our diet. A swarm of specialists
have with the invention of science settled on the each several disease;
there is a huge, unmanageable accumulation of knowledge,
and this and that disease is checked oe overcome. But our wholeness
has not been restored to us. On the contrary, it is fragmented
into a great number o disease and still more ailments. We have
lost wholeness, and we have got in its place its fragmentation
with a multiplexity of methods, offically blessed and otherwise,
dealing with the fragments in their severality.
I highly recommend reading Chapter 7 of
"The Wheel of Health" on "Fragmentation."
It can be found online.
Stanley: Natan Mallinger is my web designer to be,
one of the housemates here at the Enchanted Garden Intentional Community Growing Grounds.
I recommend his services. Jesse Alm, is the lovely new youth gardener who planted the seeds.
I just found out from my best friend, that while it rained here almost all day, up Orange County,
less than 100 miles away north, they had no rain. I want to check other nearer rain reports.
I have been having that kind of experience all year long with rain falling when I do my work
with the Beet plant. I went to the succah to pray on the day it rained and read a poem there.
I was all alone. It also rained on earth day here, a four days before when a beautiful artist
singer planted seeds in the beet pot. The Jewish people were praying for rain on the day it rained,
but we need to plant seeds as well. That is part of the work I am here to teach.
The main problem is that we are all out of the beat with nature. We are one with the beat naturally.
Planting one beet in a pot is a beginning to co-create a nation of gardeners.
My local butcher by the way is harassed by the USDA/FDA already even without laws.
The smaller ones are being chased already.
We need to get a national campaign going and
I need sponsors to help. Now is the time to move forward.
Call me please. Chef Jem's outstanding DVD on
Raw Milk: The Whole Truth would be valuable to get
to Washington. I want to reach the Senators.
My main platform will be the Catamaran Resort Hotel
November 4-7 where I do the closing ceremony
before the international and national TCM Community.
With the help of my community here, we create an incredible
display of local, fresh foods. I will feature chefs this year as well as foods
and some plants from my main local organic nursery, City Farmers Nursery.
Much work to be done. Every hour counts.

Dear Leslie,
I really liked looking at your blog today. Thank you for your kind words, for linking to my blog about S510, and for posting my comments to you.
It really gave me a feeling of renewal to hear how it rained after you planted seeds. It gives me hope that perhaps the seeds of truth about S510 and S3767 are also being watered, and that our understanding of the food situation may bloom into wisdom, rather than unhelpful regulation.
I did see the videos posted by Chef Jem, which so eloquently showed the problem.
I very much liked the version of your article that you sent to Arianna Huffington, and I would love to see it in the Huffington Post.
Thank you so much for the time, creativity, and wisdom you are putting into saving our good food.

Last day of the harvest festival
of Succot. This evening is the New Beginning,
when the Torah starts anew.
This eve is a time of celebration.
Dear Stanley,
We are in a miracle here in the Enchanted Garden Intentional Community Growing Grounds.
We are having a lot of stress as people learn to communicate and get their needs met.
So there is a lot of stress, but then in the midst of it all, yesterday we planted seeds in the garden.
I said to the youth, when we plant seeds here, it often rains.
It was so very hot when I said that.
Then, this morning, came the affirmation.
It a short bit. I got excited. It helped me overcome the discomfort I fetl from early morning sounds and upset.
Then, as I was writing this bio note, the second I wrote this,
we got a huge outpouring of rain, a major outburst,.
We have had a very dry summer, and the plains are so hurting here in our garden.
I would like to introduce you to my of my dearest housemates, Chef Jem.
He also blogs on Curezone.
He has put together a wonderful DVD called The Whole Truth: The Raw Milk Story.

Dear Leslie,
Of course you can post my comments on your blog.
I too feel that we have been given more time to reach Washington and find a way to stop this disaster. I really like your comparison with the Maccabees. They won, against odds that seemed impossible. I have to believe that we too can find a way to win this. Somehow, we have to.
I honestly feel that many of the congress people supporting the bills do not know what is in them. s510 is now 265 pages long, and I bet almost none of them have read the whole thing.
I have a really good feeling about your efforts in this. I feel you have something special to contribute, and I am grateful to you.
I am very interested in reading the latest version of your blog on s510 and s3767, and will keep an eye out for them.
I agree that we need a united strategy. I think that if people actually understood what these bills would do to food, almost everybody would oppose them. But most people think the bills will improve food safety, while they will actually do the opposite.
Thank you for sending the Bio note, it did help my understanding.
Best Wishes
Stanley

Dear Stanley,
I appreciate your feedback very much.
I will be in touch.
I am up in the middle of the night.
We need a united stategy all to get all of our team on the same page.
Please take a look at the La Milpa Organica Farm Videos

I will be added more and getting together a campaign.
I feel like we are the Macibees with the oil that burned for eight days
when we thought we only had enough for one day.
It is a Godsent that we held back s.3767 until the recess is over.
That gives us a lot of time to organize and reach Washington one by one.
We need to get a strong dialogue on science, ethics, and food going.
Please join here.
I was constantly improving and now have a great editor who looked updated versions.
I will post the lastest soon.

BIO NOTE
LONGER
Leslie Goldman, AKA Your Enchanted Gardener, is the ultimate gardener planting seeds for super ripe people and their dreams. The Ultimate Gardener, published by HCI in 2009, authored by Charlie Nardozzi, a consultant on the White House Organic Garden, morphed from a “Seed Dream” from Leslie to publisher Peter Vegso. Leslie’s companion is Keep The Beet Media Star, the world’s first talking beet plant. The beet’s message is that we can each grow our own food, starting with growing a local, organic beet in a pot. Keep the beet. Eat the beet greens.” Her celebrity began in the Huffington Post in December 2008 when Blogger Paige Donner heard her say at Hollywood Goes Green, “I am committed to create a nation of gardeners.” She writes her own column with a little help in the international Space of Love magazine. A little bit of humor, during these times of turning our beet around with nature, is good medicine, she says. Her latest project is her Rock Your Soul Opera called Beet Keepers, Return! She is calling forth new stars to root the dream of the Enchanted Garden Era, 1000 years of peace, They write on the Plant Your Dream Blog on Curezone.com.

Leslie,
I actually like what you wrote, though I was somewhat distracted by the references to your beet. I do not doubt that your beet communicates with you, but many would not understand, and might not pay the attention they should to your very important message.
The points you have made in your writing are crucial, and I agree with them . The points that really had power with me are these:
The cornerstone of food safety is a personal relationship with the farmers growing the food.
I actually have such a relationship with almost everybody I buy food from, though it is often only through the Internet and the telephone. It is crucial. Nobody can have such a relationship with a large corporation.
We need more microfarmers, who are the best path to food safety. They should be encouraged, not smothered by regulations and paperwork.
Food was never meant to be a commodity. It should be in the hands of real farmer,s not corporations.
The story of Barry Logan really moved me. Here is a true farmer, someone who produced life giving food, food that was beyond safe, food that gave health, whose gifts are ripped away from us because of regulations that serve no real purpose
Small farmers are the ones who know how to produce safe, quality food. Their customers are their regulators, which is the way it has been since humans started growing crops. They should be exempt from federal regulation.
Large corporations who are interested only in quantity and profit do not raise safe or nourishing food, and should be regulated heavily, by agencies they do not control.
There is a 10,000 year old tradition and wisdom of growing safe nourishing food, and we should be free to follow it, rather than turn control of agriculture over to big corporations who use technology to increase profits, at the expense of jobs, health, and quality.
We need to have some relationship with healthy soil and growing things.
Small farmers are nature's technology, food tech and GMOs need to be thoroughly vetted.
Leslie, we do need a national conversation about the food that is making us sick. So many people have little awareness about the different types of food, and what it means to all of us.
Somehow your writing evokes the feeling I had when I visited a combination orchard and ranch in June. A place where they used no chemicals, where the chickens and the cattle and the goats and the fruit trees all supported each other, creating a harmony so perceptible that I felt I was in a holy place. I fear we will lose all that if S510 and S3767 pass, and be left with nothing but industrial food devoid of life.
I am glad you enjoyed my bio note. I like it that you are into grassfed meat, and that you are considering doing a blog about my book.
I hope my comments were useful, and I would be glad to continue the dialogue.
Thank you for your efforts against S510 and S3767.
