I came home from the 21st Century Book Marketing Event
September 27, 2010 exhausted. I woke up at around 4 am
Monday morning. That was yesterday. I worked until around
six. I did not take a nap. I kept taking FES flower essences,
from the Flourish line. I have numbers of them to the left of
me. I did some things that I have rarely done in recent months.
I set some boundaries. One of my housemates knocked on my
door quite early in the day. I was in writing mode. I said
through the door, "Email me!" I kept writing.
Whenever I heard what might have been distracting sounds,
I would take some of the Flourish line of Flower Essence Services
formulas. These have been lifesavers for me during the
last two months. There have been days when I have wanted
to move out from here. There have been days when I have
seen no alternative for my life, no reprieve from the challenge
of living with so many others here at the Enchanted Garden
Intentional Community Growing Grounds.
Being the Manager here is a killer. It has been a killer
on and off for years. I inherit the job years ago when my Sanda,
my co=partner here wanted to leave and move to Washington
state to establish what is now called Dragon Belly Farm. She now
lives in San Mateo at what is called the San Mateo Eco-Village.
There is an extreme underlying pressure in living here.
I was feeling it while Nicolas Ortner, an EFT and Meridian Tapping expert
was on stage helping many in the room feel less overwhelmed.
I was so exhausted from the two day weekend that came on top
of an entire week of timelines that were in part turning into deadlines.
While, Nicolas was speaking, I was thinking of the house.
I have been putting Sanda on hold again for months. She wants to
have me sign papers to refinance the house. She came down here
a few months ago. It is time to follow through. She wants to take
some cash out to build a new house form the equity here. The remainder
she wants to leave in a Trust under the name of the Essene School of Thought. I do not have a clue about settting up a Trust. Someone else is going to have to deal with that part.
I also want to cash out some of the equity that I have. Our agreement
is that I would live here rent free after the age of 65. I will be 63 on my birthday in November.
The trade has been me being the Manager for many years, maybe since
1987 or so. I have to check on the dates. The house is based on
the ideal of living in community. There world deeply needs more people
to attempt to clock hours of cooperative living. That is an understatement.
I came home with a lot of inspiration from the 21st Century Book Marketing Event. The first couple hours yesterday morning, I started to clear some space on my desk and on my bed. I was making some piles of materials.
I still have not started to fulling get things in order from my recent
trips north that began with September 8 with the Ten Days of Awe.
I celebrate the Jewish New Year strongly and have reinvented these holidays as part of the Enchanted Garden Era Special Events that are too good
to just belong to any one Religion.
So back to my point.
I was sitting next to Becky Kemery, who comes from Sandpointe, Idaho.
She was my main personal new ally I made at the event. We had spent
time Saturday night for about 30 or more minutes after the session
connecting. Beck Kemery has written a wonderful book about Living
in a Yurt. She also runs workshops. She has a number of sponsors
for the book. Her sponsors make Yurts. She was very generous with me.
I told her where I lived. One of my housmates is rebuilding a Dome
and revitalizing an area in the back yard that he feels has been
desecrated. A cat was living in there for numbers of years. He is a meticulous Virgo, an amazing ally of many years.
He has taken the floor done to the level of bones. The old lumber
had to be removed to get rid of cat urine. It has been very hard
for him to live solely in a room in the house. We have too many people
near his room. The sound levels here grate strongly on my nerves.
I do not want to talk about him without permission, only to say that
it has not been easy for me to live with so many distracting sounds.
So here I was, sitting next to Becky. I was thinking about Sanda,
I was feeling a clock ticking. I have been addressing issues of national
concern. I feel our food supply is imperiled. Most people do not
get how bad it is. I have been driving myself. I have been working
night and day in recent weeks to do what I could to alert people to the
flawed Food Safety Bills SB-510 and now SB- 3767 that have been going
through the Senate.
If we as a people can hold back the senators for one more week,
there will be much more time to educate and come up with a Food Safety
Bill that does not potentially harm our Micro Farmers who are already
enduring great hardship from Regulations.
One close friend, one of the Beet Keeper, Return! beet keeper growers
is now shutting down a most precious farm called La Mipa Organica Farm.
Last week I had a number of deadlines, including helping Keep The Beet Media Star, The World's First Talking Beet Plant write her column
for Space of Love Magazine. I also had deadlines for the Pacific Symposium Handbook.
I could not tell what I was doing with some of the materials.
It was meticulous work. It was only after the fact of much work
that I had a previous breakthrough and could see how the work
could turn into a marketing strategy to make ends meet at the
upcoming Pacific Symposium. There is still a ton of things to do
regarding nailing down what I need to make that event November
4-7 a success, not only spiritually, but in the bank account.
So here I was with Becky.
I did not plan to be at Arielle Ford and Mike Koenigs 21st Century
Book Marketing event. I sent down to the Hilton Bay Front for
to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of Rancho La Puerta, where the
Essene School of LIfe began in the early 1940's. I am one of the
last ordained ministers of co-founder Edmond Bordeaux Szekely.
I see him at the primary Essene Renaissance Prophet.
I will tell that story of how I came to be in the room in another
Garden Management Journal Entry.
So. yesterday, I was able to keep my focus.
Ariella gave us a homework assignment.
It was to do a blog for the Huffington Post.
I have wanted to write a blog for the Huffington Post for a long time.
I was determined to write one that we would send
to Ariana Huffington personally.
So I worked all day yesterday straight through
without stopping to eat hardly at all.
This here is the Blog I came up with.
I want to complete on that today.
I have not been attending to the house much last week,
other than a house meeting we had last Monday night.
I will talk about that in another blog.
Yesterday, there was a tremendous outburst of yelling
coming from the backyard, calling me out.
Normally I would have gone out, but I let it be.
There was screaming at the top of lungs. Extreme upset
over remaining clutter and new trash that had been left
in a space that my housemate had cleared and made
sacred.
I kept working.
I kept taking the FES flower essence remedies, including
Mind Full, Grace, and Activ 8 for passion and life purpose.
I took a few of the StayActiv pills later in the day.
I was mainly drinking water, well water from Phil Noble
of Safe Mountain farm. Phil is another of my Beet Keeper
beet growers.
As the day wore on and I could hardly think straight,
I started to second guess what I was doing.
I will write more about that with the Blog here where
I have my blog to Adriana Huffington.
I have some fresh inspiration this morning.
I am up again early to have some safe sound.
I am going to bed.
There is much going on. I wonder what is going on
in Washington regarding the Food Safety Bills.
I spent time with a hurting ally here after a full day
of the blog. I was on vapors.
That is enough for now.

Under section 103(c) of the manager’s package, the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) would be authorized to issue regulations “with respect to activities that constitute on-farm manufacturing or processing of food that is not consumed either on that farm or another farm under common ownership” for purposes of Section 415 of the FDCA [21 USC 350d—“Registration of Food Facilities]. In other words, any farm that manufactures or processes food would be regarded as a “food facility” and subject to the HARPC requirement unless the current definition of “manufacture/process” is changed.
Such farms would also be subject the inspection requirements contained in section 201(a)-Section 421 of the bill [p. 90]. Under section 103(c)(1)(D)(i), the HHS Secretary would have the discretion to exempt a farm from the HARPC and inspection requirements if the farm is only involved in manufacturing/processing low-risk foods. It is the Secretary who determines what foods are low-risk, meaning there is no mandate under the bill for the Secretary to exempt any food from the HARPC and/or inspection requirements.
