It is a different kind of system he says.

The La Milpa Organica Farm Open University is a project of the Dialogue on Science, Ethics, and Food. It's purpose is to cull from the seven year experience of Barry Logan, a farmer between 2003-2010. He applied gardening principles to a social experiment that sold high quality beyond organic food at three San Diego Farmers' Markets. He saw himself carrying forward a tradition of peasant farming, in place for near 10,000 years, that is now being outlawed around the world by regulatory laws that he does not see appropriately being applied to micro farms. This story informs us about S-510, the Food Safety Modernization Act that was being viewed by the Senate around September 2010. I see the story of Barry Logan of national and international interest. There is much to learn here from the writing on the law. When we apply Food Safety and other codes to micro farms we are breaking the laws of nature while enforcing laws that are coming, as I see it, from a desire to be in sync with the WTO and Codex Alimentarius Commission. La Milpa Organica Farm represents N.O.T., Nature's Original Technology being applied. Large industrial Ag is going the way of the GMO. However, I see a marriage forthcoming between Uncle Sam and Auntie GMO. --Leslie Goldman, Your Enchanted Gardener.
