MISSION OF THE ENCHANTED GARDEN INTENTIONAL COMMUNITY
An Introduction to the Vision and Mission
of the Enchanted Garden Intentional Community
There is a land in San Diego, that was once blessed by Peter Caddy.
On desert-like soil, he and the community of Findhorn, grew enormous cabbages along the wind swept coast of England. He had a military background, yet the plants responded to his love and the love of the Enchanted Gardeners who lived on that land.
This land here in San Diego, this land called a growing grounds for
The Enchanted Garden Intentional Community, asks to be a growing ground for 1000 years of peace. It is land searching for Gardeners. It is land searching for residents who want to clear the space for new growth inside themselves through the act of clearing this land and making a shared home.
This land will always have visionaries, inner and well as outer guidance,
and yet during this Summer Shift 2010 it is time for youthful ideas,
yet youthful ideas that are willing to learn from generations of experience.
This land is looking for people to live together in pursuit
of their individual dreams and collective passion to unleash the enchanted garden underfoot.
WHAT IS THE ENCHANTED GARDEN?
What is the Enchanted Garden?
The Enchanted Garden is a name for our renewed earth.
It grows as we connect literal seeds and growing plants with our
innermost dreams that are called Seed Dreams here.
Through the very act of gardening, literally, we can release
our connection to the Enchanted Garden inside ourselves.
The Enchanted Garden, in its purest intent, is a state of consciousness,
a state of unbroken wholeness in flowing movement*
yet on the ground level, it is land everywhere that asks you to reclaim it as space where the soul can flourish.
This is the Vision of the Enchanted Garden Intentional Community.
To extend from this land, a global movement of beat keepers who return to the beat of nature through beginning to grow a bit of their own food.
We have a mascot here, a magical talking beet, named Keep The Beet.
Grow a beet in a pot to begin with, or choice to grow some other plant
here. Chose to grow Keep The Beet, where you live, and you will stay
connected to our community.
The Mission here, for those who chose to accept it, is to either live
in residency here, or to live as extended community where you live.
This particular growing grounds is located within walking distance of
San Diego State Univesity, a nearby university identified as a flagship
for incoming sustainability. Are you a student of SDSU who wants
to live in a school in some sense, where the plants can teach you how
to Plant Your Dream?
I know, I am asking a lot.
I know that right now there is a shortage of experience in community living on our earth. I know that for the most part, most of us are stretching to make ends meet in a world that asks too much of us, and is very much
shifting. The very economy as we know it now has little relationship to
a growing tree, yet what will we be doing with our time as the world
comes back to nature?
This is the Call: Are You the Student of Life willing
to explore and learn from an opportunity to live together?
A new generation of youth is called forth now to the land
as well as those youthful in dreams of all ages.
We are in a time where we here are living in too much clutter
and with too many things, yet this is shifting.
We are asked to live today in gratitude, knowing
with few certainties that people we know will be in our lives
tomorrow, or that we will be the same person we knew yesterday.
This land is here to demonstrate the Great Earth Cleanup
that is asked of us everywhere, a clean up that begins
in our own backyard.
It is time as well for doing practical things.
There is a breach, a Gap, on this very land between the Vision and its outpicturing. There is a Gap everywhere between the Vision of Peace
and its outpicturing.
Are you willing to explore helping groom your private and innermost dreams as you pursuit your day to day livelihood and life preparations during this time when we are all compelled to shift?
Would you be willing to explore learning to live,
honoring your own private rented space, but enter into a willingness to communicate with others?
WHOLE PURE NATURAL FOODS
We support local farming and food growing here.
Whole, pure, and natural fresh foods are making a comeback.
Fresh food, and support for local organic farmers are now coming up
from the soil across our cities.
Could we possible learn together now to grow some food here?
Could we enjoy the fruits of existing trees, relishing small harvests,
knowing bigger harvests can be?

to study, to learn, to remember wholeness.
Through my eyes, I am recording
the history of peace on earth,
a history of the earth and its human flowering.
Our renewed earth is the Enchanted Garden,
and you and I its gardeners.
Many pulses. One Beet. Now is the time.
