Workshop:
An evening of sharing and expressing art.
Wes Chester, MA, Expressive Arts Therapist. Assistant Director of the Expressive Arts Institute. Wes Chester is a musician, poet, artist and author, who has worked in the mental health field since 1996. He earned his Master's Degree magna cum laude at the European Graduate School, where he is currently pursuing a Ph.D. Wes specializes in healing the aesthetic relationship to nature, and is a supportive and caring facilitator. Wes does private practice therapy and coaching, and teaches at the Expressive Arts Institute. Wes also does adjunct teaching in Expressive Arts at local universities, including SDUIS.
Please join us for an evening of sharing led by Wes Chester and showcasing local Performance Art. The art making experience has the ability to reawaken the wonder of embodied experience, and nourish the aesthetic response to our anesthetic culture.
The first part of the evening will introduce us to a brief talk on contemporary theory on community art facilitation and host an Open-Mic of local talent performing music, poetry, storytelling, dance and other arts. If you wish to share your talent, please sign up when you RSVP with a description your 3-5 minute performance art piece. The second part of our evening will be open to sharing from inspiration.
