Just woke up from a nap.
Went to PACIFIC COLLEGE OF ORIENTAL MEDICINE
today for acupuncture.
I go there every week.
It is my way to receive support from the
growing community of TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE
doctors who a generation ago would have
been some of the creme of the crop of
M.D.'s. Nowadays, many of these students
are going East to heal the West.
The latest trend is of course, East Meets West.
One aspect of this is called INTEGRATIVE MEDICINE.
San Diego has a history of being the Seedbed
for new growth in medicine.
In the early 80's, the movement called HOLISM
a word coined by J.C. SMUTS in the HOLISM IN EVOLUTION
began to flesh out in our city, as well as the Bay Area
and Boston. We, here in San Diego, were one of the
historic birthplaces for Holistic Health Movement.
Every summer, we would meet for the MANDALA CONFERENCE.
The Mandala Conference was a kind of summer camp
for Adults. The nurses and doctors who knew that
the conventional Medical Model needed healing
would gather at our Mandala COnference.
DAVID HARRIS was the alchemist of the event,
He exposed the highly successful conferences to
things like Sufi Dancing, Kirlian Photographer, and
the cutting edge of Humanistic Psychology thought.
He was transformation oriented.
When ROBERT MULLER of the UNITED NATIONS
came to give him a UN Peace Medal, at the 1983 conference,
is was for his work called TRANSFORMATION 2000.
Harris was a forward looking man.
It was here that the ENCHANTED GARDEN INSTALLATIONS,
rooms filled with plants and nature elements
were also born.

With each dollar we spend in the marketplace
we can upraise humanity. That is the only way
we will ever stop having earthquakes.
It is a natural disaster to hurt another human being.
For too long now, Commerce has been in the driving
hands of people who have put profit above creating
prophets.
Profits come too often from making money off others.
This is identified in the Holy Books as something called
Usury. It is forbidden.
The intent of nature is to evolve the species.
It is impossible to do this without REAL FOOD.
It is impossible to do this without WHOLE LIVING.
The primary disease of our times comes done
to FRAGMENTATION. When we see the world
through the eyes of pieces, we do not realize
the ill effects of what we do to others.
Gradually, in this the COMPUTER AGE,
we can easily see what is going on.
DR. BERNARD JENSEN would say,
when you step on the tail of a cat, it is the other
end that screams. This is whole thinking.
Fragmented thinking imagines that
you can go into the country like Haiti,
take down the forces in the country
that call for Self-Determination,
install your own ideas of dominion--
sell off-privitize its resouces--
thereby putting its people in horrific suffering--
and then imagine this is not going to
turn around and bite you in the butt.
What goes around does come around.
THE BREAKDOWN OF OUR OWN
ECONOMY
We were once one of the richest nations
in the world.
This is no longer the case.
We are living on borrowed money
that we make up daily.
We continue to sell off souls
and hurt our very own children.
We are not giving them a good start in life.
This is not something that nature likes.
THE RISE OF THE BEET KEEPERS
There is a new trend.
It is the BEET KEEPERS.
it is a flock of souls who are here
to make sure that every dollar in circulation
helps another person.
Energy can do that.
Energy moving can uplift others.
We have lost our ground,
but we are getting it back.
We are finding ourselves.
We are coming home to ourselves.
NEW PROBLEMS AND NEW SOLUTIONS
Problems come from further
and further breakdowns in our thinking.
The more we break into pieces,
the less we see the consequences of our actions
and activities.
Last year at this time, I attended the
GREEN EXPO LA.
The lead sponsor was PERF GO GREEN,
another forward looking company that
saw the writing on the wall, and wanted to do something.
TONY TRACY was out walking with his daughter
on the beach in Florida with his teen daughter.
They watched a bird eating white trash, thinking
it was food. Tony, was an entrepreneur.
He had investments in the plastic industry.
His investment were visible.
Daughter KENDALL called here dad
out...
(got to go help a housemate...

I say that because I saw it.
I knew some of the key players.
PAUL BRENNER M.D. was one of the first
to mention acupuncture from the stage.
Paul became a dear friend.
