I am the Emperor of Trash.
This too, this too, is holy in my kingdom.
Torn tree trunks, upturned roots,
soil cement covered now bulldozed crack through freed.
From the dumpster, the throwaway bin,
these abundant prized gathered,
make my domain on earth grow.
Banana peels, fish scraps,
all these my earthworms reconcile
in new soil raising my spirits.
The God I pray to praises my work,
says keep mending the broken wholeness
that breeds discarded people.
Keep turning up what lies stagnant,
buried.
Keep all life moving.

CURTIS LUTZ,
a Rainbow, has been visiting
here at the ENCHANTED GARDEN INTENTIONAL COMMUNITY.
ANGELENE met him at the RAINBOW GATHERING.
He helped put the shelf back in the kitchen.
We were unable to get that done.
He helped fix the P trap today
under the kitchen sink.
This poem is from my book
REKINDLING OF FAITH.
