This story, subtitled PEACE OFFERING,
is dedicated to MICHELE OBAMA, who with
CHARLIE NARDOZZI, of the NATIONAL GARDEN
ASSOCIATION (and others) inspired and consulted
on the White House Organic Garden in 2009.
Michelle sleeps on a regular basis with one of the
most popularly elected Presidents of the United States,
a man, a Nobel Peace Prize selection in 2009,
elected on a platform of Change,
who holds the dreams of a nation and
world on his pillow.
The book, THE ULTIMATE GARDENER
authored by Nardozzi, was inspired by
Leslie Goldman, Your Enchanted Gardener.
The inscription in the book reads:

of inspiration.

He writes on PLANT YOUR DREAM BLOG daily,

site in the world. On his 62nd birthday,
November 19, 2009, Leslie went to court
with STEVEN SPANGLER, a lanky wisdom filled
rare fruit nurseryman, to keep 1000's of trees
from being evicted for a three-acre parcel
of the EXOTICA RARE FRUIT NURSERY. Spangler
had been unable to pay rent on the parcel
since June of 2008. That afternoon, Leslie
brought Steven and his rare plants from
around the world to the SCRIPPS CENTER
FOR INTEGRATIVE MEDICINE where the two
created an Altar that envisoned a future
state of the Art Healing Garden.
The Healing Garden at Scripps Enchanted Garden
project was seeded the evening of November 7, 2009
at the PACIFIC SYMPOSIUM,
Dr. Guarneri, the keynote speaker that evening
visited the the Conference Altar, tended by Your
Enchanted Gardener. IT was here that the two
entered into a collaborative envisioning of a
long anticipated Healing Garden at Scripps
Integrative Medical Center.
Two subsequent meeting at Scripps followed.
On November 19, Leslie's 62nd birthday,
he was warmly welcomed by Dr. Guarneri.
ANDY KIRKPATRICK, on the Scripps staff
showed him the proposed area for the garden.
On Wednesday November 24, the day before
attending Thanksgiving dinner with the fifth
generation Rodriguez family of now local organic
San Diego farmers, Leslie met with DR. RAUNI KING
R.N., co founder, and NATHAN DALY, preventive medicine
M.D. to plant Seed Dreams for the Healing Garden.
Dr.Mimi Guarneri and co-founder Rauni King, R.N., are the
pioneering women inspirations behind the Scripps Center for Integrative Medicine. Founded in 1999, it is here "where state-of-the-art cardiac imaging technology and lifestyle change programs are
used to aggressively diagnose,
prevent and treat cardiovascular disease."
The world class Scripps Center, located on Torrey Pines
Rd in La Jolla, offers both a vegetarian cooking school

eat pig. Neither do I. Once when I was around 14 or 15, Author
RICHARD LAPIDUS, and I, then teens, went into NORMS on La Cienega,
Richard had eaten bacon before. I never had.

over with ALAN EVANS and his family. Sunday morning bagels
included sausage...Keep the Beet sez]
As I was saying, before I was interrupted by the Media Star,
The World's First Talking Beet Plant sitting here on my desk...
Richard introduced me to bacon at Norms. This was on a late
Saturday night after we went to Bnai-Brith-AZA function.
I remember feeling distinctively quilty, and could feel centuries
of "You Dasn't do that!" over my shoulder.
Now with SHANNAN OLIVER, eating Southern Lousiana Hog's
Head Cheese in another story. As the Slow Foods article says
"the meat product is made b a small number of producers and is
available in Southern Lousiana markets. Sadly, a taste for the product
has not been cultivated in younger generations and consequently
hog's Head Cheese could very easily disappear from the realm of
gastronomic knowledge."

At Monday's ROOT'S SUNSTAINABLE FOOD PROJECT Action
meeting, Shannon began by asking the vegetarians to close
their ears. He then handed out sheets about the Hog;s Head Cheese,
which by the way is a misnomer. It is not a cheese at all,
but rather an appetizer.
"The meet product is made from a misture of boiled
portk scraps and pig's feet--providing a gelatinous texture to the concoction--as well as vinegar, which grants the meat a sour taste. Once
boiled, this mixture is poured into bread pans and set in a cool area to
jell."
"Hog's Head Cheese is either fiery hot or calmly mild, and is eaten with
crackers, on a Po' boy sandwich, or cubed like cheese as an appetizer,"
the article continues.
Shannon told the story. He grieved the loss of this traditional knowledge
that he had known as a kid. Presumably, when he read the article,
God' only knows how, he called home to his elders. They concurred
that many of the traditions of his youth were not lost.
He then told us he was now going to remedy now only the lost
art of making Hog's Head Cheese, but the lost art of butchering
your own animals. A farmer by day at the LA MILPA ORGANICA FARM,
he told us how in his off hours he had butchered a hog to bring
back the lost Ark of Taste.
I was surprised to hear of the enthusiam in the room.
I was waiting my turn to ask the group to help me find homes
for the thousands of EXOTICA RARE FRUIT NURSERY trees.
I left the room feeling that Shannon got more interest stirred
for butchering our own food, than I did for enlisting new
owners for endangered trees.
By God's Will, all these strands of lost culture seem to be
coming together tonight after my visit to Hani.
HERE IS THE SEED DREAM
1. Hani's son NAZER will install numbers of movable Exotic
Rare Fruit Trees in containers that will proudly sit outside
the Hani's store. At night, the containers will be wheeled
in.
2. We will seek out trees that are connected with the cultures
of the regions of Hani's shoppers. He has a wide clientele
from around the world, including Your Enchanted Gardener,
who some say is in the world, but not of it.
3. Shannon Oliver and members of the Roots Action Team
will be invited to join Hani when he butchers fresh lambs
in Ramona.
4. City Farmer Nursery is down the street from Hani's
place of business, that is an incredible cross cultural mecca.
Hani would like to have a place in the city where
he could bring some live lambs and chickens.
The customers would be able to choose their live
lambs and chickens, and then Hani would butcher them.
This would draw more of the local Middle Eastern customers
to BIll Tall's Nursery where they would have an opportunity
to purchase a selection of Exotica Rare Fruit Trees
from Bill's inventory.
Bill Tall would benefit from having new local's
exposed to his nursery that features the largest array
of organic trees and plants in San Diego.
Bill already has a corral, so the idea of having another
corral nearby might by possible. I would not want to
have it too close to the present corral. This would likely
cause a stir among the animals who have live harmoniously
there. CLIDE, the horse is more than 50 years old.
As news reports go, however, deaths in the harmonious
corral are not unknown. A few weeks ago, Clide stepped
on one of the turkeys, who died and was soon butchered
by Bill. Two other turkeys raised in the corral went the way
of Thankgiving dinner at City Farmers.
Some little Arab, Jewish, and Christian kids, and other varieties of Pagan’s, atheists, and Agnostics, who happen to witness the butchering by Hallal codes will likely be inspired to become Vegans and Vegetarians for the rest of their lives. Hasidic Rebbe’s will be invited to show how in Europe they would ring the neck of a chicken, further evanegelizing other folks like myself to return to a a more balanced vegetarian lifestyle that allows each of us to live lower on the food chain.
5. Nazir, the middle son of Hani, who is majoring
in International business, would be in charge of a new
business in the store called NAZER's ORGANICS.
The Middle Eastern community of shoppers will not
only be introduced to biodynamically grown fruit trees
but ethnic high quality orgnanic foods on the shelves
that will be labeled NAZER's Organic Choice.
6. In the fruit section of the store, we will expand
the already present organic selections. I will make
a label that will say, "Blessed by Allah. Kissed by Mother Earth.
Eat Local. Eat Organic."
Foods that are not sold at the HiLLCREST FARMERS’ MARKET 9 AM-2 PM at the DMV will be delivered by Hani’s eldest son ALAA to the store each week. Alaa, trained as a pharmacist, is fast becoming sick of the Big Pharma Drug culture that he is trained in. He wants to sell olives at the Hillcrest FM. Hani asked me to introduce him to my friend, the DAVE LARSEN, the market manager. He is already on the waiting list to sell olives at the FM.
Nazer will feature locally grown foods picked up at the FM from JOE RODRIGUEZ, Jr, third genertion local organic farmer. Leslie, if it be by God’s will, will attend Christmas Mass with Joe and Family. PHIL NOBLE, evangelical, will continue to grow and prosper and have his vast array of local organic veggies in Hani’s store. BARRY LOGAN, an anarcist, somewhat Pagan kind of delight, the third of the BEET KEEPER BEET GROWERS in Leslie’s Enchanted Garden Growers Network, will have his lovely beyond organic greens, happily smiling alongside Phil and Joe’s offerings.
7. I will come to the Mosque and pray with Hani and speak
about supporting local organic food. I will invite Shannon
to come with me, as well as some of the vegetarian Root
Sustainable Food project members who had their ears closed
while Shannon told his story.
8. I will introduce Nazer to other sources of organic feeds
of the highest quality for the lambs that Hani raises in Ramona.
9. I will recommend to Nazer various sources of grains from
the GOLD MINE Catalog, one of the finest Green businesses
in San Diego. JEAN RICHARDSON is a long time friend.
10. GARY CUNNINGHAM, of Gold Mine Natural Foods,
will gift me 20 more macrobiotic
quality Miso containers for further KEEP The BEET Growth
and I will introduce him to Hani when he comes over.
Gary will offer various macrobiotic quality foods to
Nazer that will be stocked in his section of Hani's
MIDEAST MARKET.
11. Leslie, Your Enchanted Gardener, will declare peace
with Afganistan, Pakistan, Iran, Irag, Africa, and other nations
people's who shop at MIDEAST FOODS. Many of them are
Muslims.
12. Shoppers at MIDEAST FOODS will come to know
Leslie, the Jew, and Hani born in Bethlehem will continue
to teach Leslie more Hebrew words. Leslie will learn
some Moslem prayers from the book that Hani gave me
tonight, QISAR AS-SUWAR, Short Suraha With English Meanings
and a Pronunciation Guide for New Muslims.
13. Leslie will celebrate Chanukah that begins next Friday
night, inviting Hani, Bill Tall, and Nizer to come sing Hanukah
songs here at the ENCHANTED GARDEN INTENTIONAL COMMUNITY.
14. Trees from EXOTICA RARE FRUIT NURSERY will
grown throughout the Mideast Community.
15. Leslie will earn a bit more of the UN Peace Medal
he was given in 1984, by ROBERT MULLER, then UN undersecretary
General for the work he is intended to do with his life,
usher in 1000 Years of Peace.
To all this Hani and Leslie will both say,
"If it's God's Will-In Shaalah."

and wish a Merry Christmas to all.
