This PLANT YOUR DREAM BLOG is an index
to other Blogs about the Fate of the
EXOTICA RARE FRUIT NURSERY, a five acre
parcel of land in San Diego County where
a priceless resource of trees have been growing
for more than 27 years.
Three of the five acres are now in jeopardy of being lost
by December 2, 2009. $2600.00 in a cashier's check
or cash needs to be hand delivered to
JAMES W. BURMEISTER, a Carlsbad, CA eviction attorney
on the morning of December 1, 2009.
IF this is accomplished, STEVEN SPANGLER, founder
of Exotica then has another 30 days to raise $2600.00
or again the resource will be lost.
Rent needs to be paid each month thereafter on the first of each month
until August 1. On August 1, Spangler has to pay an additional
$130.000 to cover back rents owned and various other fees.
IF he does not do this, the three acres will be lost.
Attorney Burmeister I met in court. I found him to be a fair man
who is making a reasonable request from a legal standpoint for
his client. His client PAUL PANCRITIUS, the owner of the Exotica
Rare Fruit Nursery has not been paid monthly rent since June 2008.
RAISING $2600.00 NOW FOR THE DECEMBER 1 DEADLINE
The case is pretty clear and what needs to be done is pretty
obvious. The first step is raisng not only $2600.00, but an additional
20% to cover any commissions owned to any person who sells
trees in Stephen's behalf or hooks up deals to save the trees.
That means $2600.00 plus $520.00 in owed commissions by
December 1. On top of this, Spangler also owes $800.00 by December
1 for the other two acres of the property, as well as bills that I would him
to detail out.
PRICELESS COMMUNITY RESOURCE
THE TREES and STEVEN SPANGLER
I spent more than 24 hours with STEVEN SPANGLER between
November 19--my actual birthday--and around noon November 20.
I watched him in court the morning of November 19 in Vista CA.
I experienced him at the nursery that afternoon. I welcomed him
to join me at the SCRIPPS CENTER FOR INTEGRATIVE MEDICINE
at 2 PM November 19 where I was making my first visit to the site
of a future state of the art Healing Garden.
I ate dinner with him here at the
ENCHANTED GARDEN INTENTIONAL
COMMUNITY, served by CHEF JEM,
and then we attended a bit of the FOOD NOT LAWN
Fundraiser dinner downtown.
Steven slept her that night.
In the morning, I asked him to climb our rare Rose Apple Tree
here for a photo shoot, and then I brought him to meet
BILL TALL of CITY FARMERS NURSERY, one of the
BEET KEEPER sponsors. BILL made a generous purchase
of $1500.00 trees. The Trees were delivered November 24,
two days before Thanksgiving. Another Sponsor of mine,
ANTHONY RUSSO of BIOSMART and EARTHSMART sugar cane
Bagasse compostable dinnerware, also made a commitment
to buy $300.00 trees on November 26, as well back me in helping
Steven secure an online store that can be tied in with
the Earthsmart education projects and BIOSMART sales.
