Day 1 of the journey
weight loss oriented fast, focused on overall health
Date: 9/25/2009 2:04:05 AM ( 15 y ) ... viewed 1216 times For the next 5 days I will be prepping for an extended fast--one which will occur during the thanksgiving holidays, but when is it ever convenient to fast?
Anyway for the next 2 days it will be fresh fruit and water, then for the next 3 days, juice and water.
October 1st I will begin water only and continue as necessary to reach health goals.
I just found out that I'm a type II diabetic, and I'm only 32 yrs old. I am about 100 lbs overweight (I was 120 lbs overweight but lost 20 lbs in 2 months through traditional diets) I also found out today that I have fibromyalgia.....
So my goals are simple:
drop 100lbs
lower blood sugar back to normal range
increase energy and decrease fatigue
I feel that the fast will probably last 60 days, but I am prepared for as short or as long of a time as needed.
During the fast I plan to take slow. leisure walks when the weather is mild, unplug the media, take long cool showers and warm bubble baths. I plan to meditate several hours a day and sleep 8-10 hrs each night with a daily nap. If I feel up to it, I may do some light yoga just to stretch some. I do not plan to read, or watch tv. I do intend to blog my progress on this site and keep a journal of my journey to a healthy me. I will not "surf" or spend extended time on the phone or in social setting. I feel this will be a time of renewal for myself....inside and out!
Please keep me in your prayers....I homeschool 2 5yr old sons whom I must feed regularly ") and my husband is supportive, but skeptical.
Weight:250 lbs
Mood: optimistic, but afraid to fail (I tried this before and quit on day 4)
