Day 1
Boredom is a big barrier to overcome when fasting...

However, I choose to remain optimistic and so I have decided that my water fast officially starts at 4:00 pm, this afternoon, two hours after my last bite of food. The problem I struggle most with while attempting to fast is fighting boredom. So, I have come up with back-up plans to keep me away from the kitchen! I am an avid worker-outer- I love physical activity-and I have filled my day with a lot of reading, walking, and running, with minor additions of strength training. Typically I find that during the first part of day 1 I have an abundance of energy, of which I take advantage of by working out in the my normal level of intensity...I look forward to getting past even day 1, erm, 24 hours. I feel that counting the hours which have passed really helps me push through. I strongly believe that if I can push through 48 hours, I can do 72, 96, 120, and etc.
