If you have cable or satellite or pay TV you don't have to worry, as those companies will automatically convert the signal for you. If you have or purchase a new TV and hook it up to an antennae on your roof it should have a built-in digital tuner to receive the new digital signal (check with the manufacturer to make sure).
If you have an antennae on your roof or use rabbit ears for an older analog TV, you can keep your analog TV but will need a converter box so the analog TV can get the new digital signals. If you or anyone you know needs a converter box, then they can apply for a $40 off coupon from the government to help pay for it, up to two coupons per household.
go to the above link for the coupons; it's fast & easy to apply. The program is explained further on the website.
