Day 2
Smoking, Ditch Pigs, Malevolent Spouses and Day 2
Date: 4/3/2008 1:11:35 PM ( 16 y ) ... viewed 2561 times Hello hello - well, Day 1 is down and OUT BABY!! A whole day smoke free and I can't really believe how good it actually feels! Already my lungs are appreciating the 25 cigarettes that I DIDn't smoke. I was actually late for work this morning as I had a few blood tests to take at the local lab. It would appear that with the onset of menopause, comes an assortment of other issues and ailments that must be identified and dealt with...I have such a super Doctor. When I had the twins, my old family Doctor (who I'd had since I was about 10 - and he was pretty crispy then..) didn't do "maternity" - which in retrospect is rather funny. In a very random moment I chose a female doctor closer to where I lived. If anyone was going to be inspecting my nether-regions I'd have rathered it be a female - and lo - bright light - along came Erin. So seven years later, two lovely girls, personal relationships with all the staff at Erins practise (I'm never asked to "move down" - I'm always voluntarily hanging off the stirrups now...) an ex-husband who I discovered cheated on me (6 times - and no I didn't know) throughout our relationship (including during and after the pregnancy - no one could find him when the girls were about to be born - and guess what - he was off with some ditch pig. Anyway - I'm now taking the steps to make sure I live at least until the girls graduate... It was Erin who said that at my age, we need to start treating our bodies differently...so I'm on that wagon..and the first thing getting the boot is the smoking....(well after the nightmare of a spouse hit the road....)! Everything in my life is good now - save for the smoking. Hope everyone is good out there.
