I do not intend to return to the hospital.
I realize I am trying to control the uncontrollable;
no one can predict what will happen or when or how.
I feel that I have done what I can to engineer
as comfortable an end as possible.
When I was in the hospital recently a nurse asked,
"How long have you been suffering from all of this?"
The question struck me. I answered that I try not to suffer at all.
That I try to experience whatever occurs with more interest
than resistance, with more "ah ha" than "oy vay".
Of course it does not always work and I do my wailing
and flailing bit filled with fear.
I just try to catch myself and be present in the moment.
This is likely the last of these letters from me.
Thank you for hearing me out and for your kind responses.
For some reason I have been given the gift
of readily attuning my heart with the hearts of others;
these writings have helped me find many other hearts to touch.
Be well, be kind,
Gary Hartman

Rebuilding my Address book that crashed last night!
New Energy Coming in with the Spring?
Having a chance to go through some old emails
and put in old friends in my address book.
Gary Hartman...one of my dearest friends.
No longer in the body. A really great friend.
He was with me one night when I was really down
during my first Hip Revisions.
