The Dance
Alive Expression through Movement

Last night I was back at the monthly Tantra Movement happening.
Through dance we play out the archetypical stands we can choose as human being.
First a mall intro on the archetypes and the tantra temples in India.
Apparently, as all of us have seen at one time or another, the tantric temples are full of sexual carvings of the joining of male and female...in pretty much every combination possible using only the human body.
The next hall or chamber is more gentle, man and women holding hands, being gently with their partner, helpful, feeding, bathing each other. Helpmates.
The next chamber is bereft of figures on the carved on the wall, the place of stillness within the Void. The source of each of us. The place one may find in meditation, or in painting, or in being a healer.
The space where even intention is gone. Being.
This space can be used for all creativ endeavors. Or to be with the essence of Oneself.
This does not necessarily mean we become sheep, or without will or intention. It means we can connect without thought. As soon as we become active this place recedes but remains with some practice.
The con centric shaped dance symbolizes the center of our meditativ ebeing in the center of the room, this spot is for those who wish to go inside and not be physically active.
Here one may sit on the floor, or if necessary a chair and connect to the center or the mother through the feet rather than the perineium.
The next and widest circle is the dancers, the only rule is someone must always be dancing portraying Shiva- life always go on. The music promotes my lovey body movements. The kundalini rises and as I move I feel my belly begin to undulate and my breathing become that of the ancient movement of the belly dancer.
As I sit the breath becomes belly breath rollong undulating. Hello life force, hello my liitle spine snake! I am poerfully alive. Dangerously alive. Fully expressed as One through the dance.
The outside of the room is for those who prefer to watch life rather than live it.
This may symbolize old age, infirmity, or resignation. It could also indicate a season of rest after a birth of creativness. All fire is dissapated.
This symbolic dance fires me with life and joy and love. I feel the heart chakra begin to opne and spin. Lovely, Lovely Life.
Gratitude for who I am begins to warm my muscles. Appreciation begin to draw a smile on my serious nature.
Life is a choice, are you choosing powerfully?
Have respect and love in all you do as even the ethical warrior has in the battle.
