About 200 Marines reserves based in Grand Rapids were preparing for an urban warfare exercise at a vacant downtown building on Friday when they heard that Finkbeiner had pulled the plug on the maneuvers.

Carleton "Carty" S. Finkbeiner (born May 30, 1939) is an American Democratic politician who is the current mayor of Toledo, Ohio. First elected in 1993, he took office on January 1, 1994. In 1997, he defeated challenger Nick Wichowski to win a second term. Term limits prevented him from running a third consecutive time.

FINKBEINER?! of Toledo, Ohio to let every nation and Vampire Orc know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall not pay any price, nor bear any burden, nor meet any hardship and especially not support any Marine in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty. By order of Mayor CARTY! FINKBEINER!? "A" Company, First Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment, a reserve unit from Grand Rapids, Michigan was told at 3:20 pm to leave the Toledo no later than 6pm.
