Green TV Mindblowers on Discovery Home Channel
Discovery Home Channel Green shows blow my mind.

Been watching Discovery Home Channel
for the last 90 minutes.
I started with
GET FRESH WITH SARA SNOW

then
GREENOVATE
now
a program from
New Zealand called
WASTED.
This last program is the ultimate
Green Blow Mind.
It starts with the main Eco Crime buster,
Annabelle Gurwitch,
bringing back 6 months of trash in black bags.
Annabelle has an assistant who is dressed
and covered from head to toe and masked.
Her assistant helps unload from a trash vehicle
all the black bags a family, etc,,
have used in the last six months.
She dumps the bags. Then she opens them,
all the guck, and goes after the "households'
eco criminals, pointing out all the things they
did wrong for the Earth.
Then, she educates.
She shows all kinds of impriovements that are possible.
Then she offers a money prize to anyone who reduces
the energy footprint of their house.
She gives homework.
Then, she comes back in three weeks with a bucket of money
and gives the family/household a reward equal to how much
they reduced their energetic footprint.
I saw two back to back episodes.
The first episode was a family,
She took the family to task for using disposable baby diapers.
for the hubby driving over taking a commuter train to work.
She also got down on the garbage disposal and presented
the family with a tray of earthworms as a garbage disposal
replacement!
In the second episode, she took on three New Zealand
party girls with "superfluous income." She took them
to task for attempting to dry their clothes inddor. She
pointed out the mold that came from condensation.
In both episodes she installed outdoor clothes lines!
She took the buxom beauties to task for all their cosmetics.
She had them gather all the commercial cosmetics they each used
and went through the labels, pointing out the chemicals and
possibly harm they were doing to themselves and the earth
as they combined these.
She also took them to task for leaving on the pool heater,
etc, etc. She asked for each women to take a
cosmetic free day once a week.
The three women were into "Take Out" food.
The show hostess pointed out what it took to make these
take out containers, including wasting water and oil.
She said that only 10% of the waste is represented by
what we see. The other 90% in things such as the wasted
oil that we do not see.
That show is called WASTED.

On GREENOVATE, a US Odd Couple type family,
two men with a child, and upstiars, a woman and her
small daughter, go on a renovation project
using all Green Technology.
The consciousness that they applied would have
been enough to have Liora Leah in applause.
I learned about technology I had never heard before
including "Thankless" water heaters. They did a whole
replumb job that including water filtration with reverse
osmosis, that the homeowners said rivaled the quality
of water in the Garden of Eden. A sweet analogy at least.
They put in low flush toilets that had two different
buttons, one for brown and one for pee.
They put in banks of solar panels.
The talked about VOC paints.
The woman upstairs showed all the reused
tiles she went out to buy, and all the naturals fibers.
She went shopping to a store and showed various
kinds of toxic free paints that were now available.
The number of these eco-friendly paints is now
extensive.
She pulled out the carpets, and sent them to someone
else rather than a landfill. She did not want her child
to be exposed to carpets that outgas.
They used floor finishes that were eoc-friendly
with no VOC's. I never heard of VOC's. It is
a term for some baddy in substances that are
apparently toxic.
This was all very fascinating and inspiring.
They talked about government rebates on the solar panels,
and had charts explaining how much the household was going to
save initially and after the fact.
They replumbed the whole house!!!!
IT was facinating to watch. They did not shy away
from addressing the emotions the residents felt
during the GREENOVATE process.
The first Show I watched
was called GETTING FRESH WITH SARA SHOW.
SARA is the daughter of one of the founders of Eden Foods,
one of the companies I admire and see at the upcoming
Natural Product Expo West, Tim Redmond.
Sara is going to be using my Super Ripe Photos in
the Video she is going to make.
I was going through more photos yesterday.
I want to ask Sara her needs.
I wonder if she will be filming at the Natural Product Expo West.
I want her to meet Joe the Farmer.
She was on stage at last year's Organic Center Fundraiser.
I will be one of the Photographers at this year's Organic Center
Fundraiser.
The NPEW energizes the Anaheim Convention Center with Windpower
during the show.
There was interest in the kitchen to have Joe help put in an herb garden.
I am gong to follow up on that, once I get through with record keeping
improvements.
