A Sweet Lesson in Humanity 18 y
kindness, respect, dignity
Years ago, a 10-year-old boy approached the counter of a soda shop and climbed on to a stool.
”What does an ice cream sundae cost?” he asked the waitress.
”Fifty Cents”, she answered.
The youngster reached deep in his pockets and pulled out an assortment of change, counting it carefully as the waitress grew impatient. She had ”bigger” customers to wait on.
”Well, how much would just plain ice cream be?” the boy asked.
The waitress responded with noticeable irritation in her voice, ”Thirty-five cents.”
Again, the boy slowly counted his money. ”May I have some plain ice cream in a ... read more

Preparing to make some changes
I’m preparing to make some changes in my life, and in my daughter’s, as far as diet and health - and while this may sound like the simplest thing to most people, I am sure that you friends at Curezone know that is not the case. America is not designed to promote healthful living. I am becoming frustrated at how very difficult it is to find anything to eat that does not contain dairy or sugar - even my daughter’s chewable vitamins have both milk and sugar!
I felt this weekend like making concessions ”just a little will be ok” but really, that defeats the whole purpose of making the effort ... read more

Quote of the Weekend (Also known as TGIF)
As I head into the weekend, planning a garage sale, laundry, dishes, vacuuming and other sundry chores... I must remind myself to stop and smell the roses...
Beware the Barrenness of a Busy Life.
---Socrates
And life is not complete without an ancient Chinese Proverb :)
Be Not Afraid of Growing Slowly,
Be afraid only of standing still.
Have a great weekend everyone!

We never know what we can do until we try!
All of my accomplishments in this life have come from trying and dreaming things that I thought were too big for me. I remember when I applied for my job thinking that I wasn’t qualified, but the worst they could do was say no.
Right now, I’m trying to get my jewelry-making business off the ground and hope to make a living at it someday. My current short-term goal is to put together a professional portfolio to send to Sundance Catalog (Robert Redford’s catalog) http://www.sundancecatalog.com
and hope to get some pieces accepted for artist feature in the catalog. I look at the jewelry in ... read more

The True Definition of Success
Ralph Waldo Emerson
Definition of Success
To laugh often and much;
To win the respect of
intelligent people and
the affection of children;
To earn the appreciation of honest critics
and endure the betrayal of false friends;
To appreciate beauty,
To find the best in others;
To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child,
a garden patch or a redeemed social condition;
To know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.
This is to have succeeded.

Speak your truth with a smile
In this world we live in... where everything seems to continually go wrong and get worse. We are a community of like-minded people, peaceful, joyful, and eager to make a difference in the little corner of the world we can influence. Today, this quote is for us...
“Never underestimate the power of a few committed people to change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”
