New research shows vitamin D slashes risk of cancers by 77 percent 17 y
Cancer industry refuses to support cancer prevention by: Mike Adams
Exciting new research
conducted at the Creighton University School of Medicine in Nebraska has
revealed that supplementing with vitamin D and calcium can reduce your
risk of cancer by an astonishing 77 percent. This includes breast
cancer, colon cancer, skin cancer and other forms of cancer. This
research provides strong new evidence that vitamin D is the single most
effective medicine against cancer, far outpacing the benefits of any
cancer drug known to modern science.
The study involved 1,179 healthy women from rural Nebraska. One group of
women was given calcium (arou ... read more

You Can Help Grow Organic Food! 17 y
Congress is about to vote on a new Farm Bill, which could be the first to include fair funding for organics. But to make this happen, our Representatives need to hear from us!
Act now. Add your name to the Grow Organics petition and join the fight for pesticide-free produce. EWG Action Fund’s goal is 30,000 signatures by July 15. Tell Congress to vote for organics.

I support EWG Action Fund’s efforts to increase funding for organic farming.
I believe Congress should level the playing field for organic farmers to expand access to safe, healthy organic food that is free of potentially harmful pesticides and genetic modification. I urge our national leaders to inclu ... read more
Why You Should Avoid Conventional Dryer Sheets And Fabric Softeners 17 y
Although they may make your clothes feel soft and smell fresh, fabric softener and dryer sheets are some of the most toxic products around. Try Chemical-Free "Static Eliminator" to Soften Clothes And Eliminate Static
Chances are that the staggering 99.8 percent of Americans who use common commercial detergents, fabric softeners, bleaches, and stain removers would think twice if they knew they contained chemicals that could cause cancer and brain damage.
The fresh and clean smells associated with these products are completely artificial fragrances that are required to cover up the stench of all the chemicals in typical dryer sheets (chemicals used for fabric softness and eliminating static cling.)
So how could products with pretty names like Soft Ocean Mist, Summer Orchard and April Fresh be s ... read more

Going to the dogs...
By AHarleyGyrl
The Government is in a really great place when it comes to Cigarettes. The Tobacco Industry cannot complain much because the Government protected them a great deal since their inception, eventhough their product kills people. By taxing them and allowing them on the market, it gave a green light, too. Oddly, the same entity that protects Cigarettes, is the same one who warns individuals about their dangerous health risks. If that ain’t the best of both worlds, I don’t know what is. It says to both the Consumer and to the Corporation, we are doing our best to protec ... read more

Do Mean People Suck?
By AHarleyGyrl
I recently read on Ana’s blog, an article from USA Today, entitled ” Rudeness, threats make the Web a cruel world ”: http://www.usatoday.com/tech/webguide/internetlife/2007-07-30-cruel-web_N.htm
My reply:
It wasn’t like that when I was a kid. I agree, though, the internet hath spawned a subclass of anonymous beings. But, really, our whole social reality is based on bureaucracy, which creates a ”no accountability”, ”pass-the-buck” society. I believe our ”anything-goes” attitude which has come to prevail over the last few years, actually was subject to a backlas ... read more
The Goal of Humans 17 y
Is destruction our goal?
By AHarleyGyrl
Humans have different brains than other animals. They can use logic and are deemed the most intelligent complex animals on the planet. They regard themselves as a more important life form than other animals. Thus, the goal of humans should be to ensure it’s continuance of population through providing shelter, food, and overall safety of it’s species. Instead, it appears humans regard their species as divided. They seem to want to protect those who are more privilaged than others. But, in reality, they do not even properly protect those .

Who's On First?
By AHarleyGyrl
Our Government is said to be of the people, by the people, and for the people. No, because of Capitalism, it is of the poor, by the poor and for the rich. Humans are so ingrained to believe Capitalism is the only way of life that could ever work. As Dr. Phil would say...”How’s that workin’ for ya?” It’s functional and it works, just it works best for the wealthy and the Government (same thing). You do the same thing, you will get the same results. Humans do not want to look at any other way of economy, so they are condemned to repeat the same mistakes. So far, they ... read more

Why does God heal some people and not others?
By AHarleyGyrl
This bothers me. We lost Tammy Faye to cancer with pain and we lose many othes. She had a nation praying for her. My Aunt went through the same suffering, had many people praying, and she died with a bible in her hand and was a regular church goer. I watch the 700 Club a lot and they are always having these healing stories. People will hear one of them praying for a condition or disease to be gone, and the person claims it and God heals them. What is the thing? He picks and chooses? Were the people who suffered and died not watching 700 Cub, or should have been and ... read more

By AHarleyGyrl
I want to be complacent (content),
I mean everyone keeps telling me just accept God does what he does, prayers
work, everything is ok, don’t try to understand it it will just stress you. To me that means complacency. Ok, but when I watch a news story of a family getting murdered, I am not a big God
fan or Earth fan or people fan. We are supposed to think this beautiful Earth
is here for us to enjoy and God died so we could live, etc.... The reality is
the rich have all the money and they have polluted the food and water and air

Notes on a Food-Free Diet

I hate Jeffrey Kluger. In fact, I hate all the editors of this issue who thought it would be funny to find out what would happen if I didn’t eat for two days. I’ll tell you what happens: I get hungry. And cranky. And cold and light-headed. What’s next on your list of investigative journalism? See if a guy bleeds when you stab him? See if sour milk makes him barf? I must have missed the e-mail about how the magazine was taken over by the guys from TV’s Jackass.
For my fast, I decided to do the Master Cleanse, a diet from the ’70s that’s become popular with the type of women who do ... read more

There are over 200 million Americans who are overweight, and collectively they are carrying around an extra 5 BILLION pounds of excess fat.

Somewhere in your brain, there’s a cupcake circuit. how it works is not entirely clear, and you couldn’t see it even if you knew where to look. But it’s there all the same—and it’s a powerful thing. You didn’t pop out of the womb prewired for cupcakes, but long ago, early in your babyhood, you got your first taste of one, and instantly a series of sensory, metabolic and neurochemical fireworks went off.
The mesolimbic region in the center of your brain—the area that processes pleasure—lit up. The vagus nerve flashed signals to the stomach, which began to secrete digestive acids. ... read more
