I think that might not be a good idea. Our body needs to be coached into having a strong immune system. A cold or flu is an indicator that the immune system has failed. I think a better strategy would be to avoid dairy, provide your child with alkalizing foods, and give them vitamin c every day. At the the first hint of a sore throat or a fever, I would use diluted peroxide to erradicate the external source of the virus from the ears.
