Well, this is one of the problems I have with so many "experts" in the raw community. There are many opinions, some conflicting, making it hard for us to decide what is right/wrong/good/bad. I decided that if something worked for ME, I would do it, even if some guru says not to, and that if something doesn't work for me, I DON'T do it, regardless of what the experts say. The whole enzyme thing is a debate in the first place. Many say that plant enzymes are killed by stomach acids, so eating raw food is healthy, but not because of live plant enzymes. When you think about it, plants begin to die the moment they are plucked from their stems anyway. So what are we to believe? I say if you like the taste of raw almonds and they have no negative effect on you, eat 'em! If you prefer to soak them first, why not? I have a vegan friend who stores soaked almonds, but I never saw a reason to do that for myself. But I will soak them before blending them (if I remember!) because I don't like the graininess you get from unsoaked nuts. I don't worry about enzymes at all anymore- I enjoy raw produce that is as fresh as I can get it; regardless of the reasons, it is still the best food I've ever eaten. I'm having some raw almonds this morning, as a matter of fact. :-) Add This Message To Your CureZone Favorites!
