My 13 month old Dobe boy has had skin problems requiring multiple courses of antibiotics and anti fungal drugs.
At 6 month's old he received a double vaccination of distemper and rabies and within a few hours he broke out in hives. I have always fed him a super premium kibble, but he started having skin erruptions and flaking. I switched him to a grain free formula, but many of the better foods have multiple proteins and eggs as ingredients, plus a number of supplements which all could have contributed to his skin allergies. About a month ago I gave him a dose of Heartguard and within hours he broke out in welts down his spine. These welts proceeded, over the next few weeks,to flake off and he lost almost all his coat on his back. I was desperate. The vet took him off the allergy kibble and put him on rice and pork cooked. He was miserable on it and continued to lose weight and be listless. I decided to take matters into my own hands and put him on raw and suppplement him with vitamins and herbs. I am happy to report that after only two weeks he is growing back a beautiful coat, and he has a real lust for life. He cannot wait to be alone with his bones and savors them like nothing I have seen before. His bowels are great and his skin does not smell and his teeth are so white. He has not sprouted any new welts. He has gained back all the muscle he lost.
I am very grateful for this site which helped me make the switch. Add This Message To Your CureZone Favorites!
