Thanks for the well wishes! I'm doing a 50 day water fast because I have come to strongly believe in my heart that this is the type of fast the I should do, as opposed to juice fasting or a fruit/veg fast.

To be quite honest, when I first launched out to complete the 50 day fast I was doing a combination of purified/reverse osmosis water (which is slightly less acidic than distilled), and juicing or drinking organic bottled juices. I still suffered more weakness than usual (I've fasted many times before on spring water and filtered tap water, and juices, without any major problems) - which I now attribute to the bad water. Anyway, I first resisted the thought of doing a water fast because I just couldn't image myself surviving on one. I was very afraid and apprehensive. Then when I felt strongly led in the direction of water fasting, I made up my mind to do it, and like many others, I did research to find out what water would be best, and ended up on distilled.

I think I have enough "stored up" fat to last me during my fast without getting too skinny, and I think the alkaline water is helping me tremendously. I feel better than when I fasted years ago on juices and regular water, so I think that's a good sign.

I do plan to listen to my body and not try to do this fast "unto death". I ended my last 28 day fast because it was making me too sick, so I think I'm pretty level headed. If I feel the need to do the last 10 days or so on fresh juices (due to health reasons), I plan to do it. I would be going against what I feel in my heart, but a least I know within myself that I gave it my best. :)
