You're absolutely right, and I've seen this play out at work (where I, too, am a counselor) over the months since I wrote this entry.

In many ways over the years I have evolved, yet am in a humble, lower-ranks position with the organization where I work, and sometimes feel a bit powerless.

But in fact it is but a way-station on my spiritual path. Probably the main reason I'm there for the time being has to do with not only what I have to teach the (so-called) clients, but also what I have learned from them.

They are quite a gift in my life, quite a real blessing, just being themselves.
