My usual is to mentally bash myself whenever I goof up, especially if it involves hurting someone else--the usual "guilt and shame" trip.
Spirit doesn't let me totally off the hook--they emphasize making amends--yet they also tell me to not be so hard on myself, as "to err is human", after all!
