You don't have to PROVE yourself to no-one but yourself.
It appears you have done that.
If your not allowed to move on and make your own decisions without being questioned then I would suggest you treat your mother like you would a three year old. Perhaps then she just might get the gist of it, if not it would have at the least brought the problem out in the air.
I feel that your mother does "see that", and perhaps your mother needs to "move on", otherwise what she has taught you since you were a baby has failed. It is time now for her to TRUST you, for both of you to move on and have a loving, trusting relationship that you both want.
