Blog: The Master Cleanse Expression
Today is a peaceful, calm day...
I discovered the source of my headache and my
body aches. My monthly cycle started. I had
thought it might be a few days more, but I
looked back at my blog from last year and
sure enough day 2, same thing. I am sure it
was what also was weakening my resolve which
seemed better for me since I thought I was
really ready to embrace the cleanse and have
eyes ONLY for lemonade. Again, today, I was
cutting up a banana and I thought, jeez that
smells and looks so good. A spoonful of my
unsulphured blackstrap molasses was fine to
quell the craving and I was really happy to
get past feeding the birds.
I also made myself a big mug of ginseng tea
since it is good to smooth out hormonal jags
and that is what I needed today. It helped.
I had to laugh too since now I know why I
really wanted a massage on my wish list. I
got one not too long ago so am also remembering
the pleasure of it.
Everything feels mellow though. I am really
having an amazing easy time of it. I will most
likely chill in my chair for the afternoon as
its very quiet here and hot outside so the coolness
inside feels good. Company comes tomorrow and
the energy of the house will shift. For now,
the idea of relaxing and meditating feels more
perfect than anything else.
I hope all others cleansing have a peaceful day~~
blessings,
Zoe

Yum...Ginseng tea. THat is one of the things I truly miss about living in Korea. About every month or so I would go to the herbal market in Seoul to buy my ginseng. I used it in cooking, ate it raw, make a special health drink from it, etc. When I was taking ginseng on a regular basis, my energy levels were through the roof. Sounds as if things are going well, other than you monthly visitor.

In my perfect world, I would collect ginseng
like I collect salt. My friend who lived here
did give me liquid ginseng, ginseng paste,
and I have a big root, very old and too hard
to cut anymore. I am waiting to find a nice
jar of honey to bury it in for a year to
soften it and to infuse the honey with a good
energy.
My original link about ginseng and its ability
to help menstrual concerns is broken but I was
really glad to discover this way to help. It
does. I brewed another quart today.
Perhaps you have friends who can send you some
ginseng from Korea since they do have great
ginseng?? Obviously your love of it is still
fresh in your mind...ggg.
Ginseng still grows in the wilderness of
Missouri. You need a permit to harvest it
though...

Two suggestions. Your ginseng root can be ground into powder and directly mixed into about a quart of honey. This is how I often did it in Korea and how I would give it to my kids. The other method, which I rather like as well, is to put the root in a jar, you may need to break it up a bit, and add a liter or quart of vodka. Alcohol pulls all the good stuff out of the root. Seal it up nice and tight and wait at least 6 months, preferably one year. After that, once a week take a shot of the ginseng liquor for health purposes of course. It truly is remarkable. I currently have some ginseng powder I need to get into some honey as well as some red ginseng. I'm going to get that into some vodka before I head back to the states and let it start working its magic over the summer.

Dropped my 6 year old Korean red ginseng into a bottle of Absolute this afternoon. Dated it and will wait until this time next summer, maybe longer to give it a try. OH THE ANTICIPATION...LOL
