Blog: My Very First 30 day Juice Fast
Alright, yesterday went great. I felt good about myself for actually being able to start and now that i have it's just smooth sailing (except for detox symptoms, but oh well) I havnt had an enema because i cant and i havent had lax tea yet because i havnt gotten any. I figured this isnt too big a deal because im only 14 and the buildup in me cant be that bad.
Today is starting a little slow, no detox symptoms yet, but my hair is still falling out, maybe even more so and im so scared. I dont even care about losing weight with this fast, i just want my health back so my hair will stop falling out as soon as possible. Can fasting help with hair loss?

- hair loss? by missnook

Emina,
I was wondering if you are comfortable discussing this health issue with a trusted adult in your daily life? I don't presume to know what level of communication exists in your household. If my daughter was having ANY problems, I would want to know. Have you seen a health care professional about this? There are many reasons for hair loss and many treatments. Fasting is definitely therapeutic for many ailments, but determining the underlying cause is essential to sucessful treatment.
Your body is experiencing it's greatest period of growth and development. This includes your brain, organs, reproductive system, and musculoskeletal system. It's easy for nutritional deficiencies to set your body off balance. Nutritional suppliments are a science and must be studied carefully for benefit versus causing harm. The web is a wealth of knowledge, but also full of people seeking wealth through false information.
You stated you have benn researching hair loss for the last two months. Good for you taking charge of your own health. Your tenacity will serve you well throughout your life. Perhaps someday you will pursue a career in naturopathy, osteopathy, or some other natural health field. Please let me know if I've answered your question; I am a little concerned. Colleen

I have discussed this with my parents (i'm too afraid about losing it all not to) and a doctor...two actually. A dermatologist and a family practitioner. They both agree that it's a resul of mal-nutrition due to my 2 months of bingeing non-stop. I was hoping leveling out my patterns would help it out...

You really need to see a doc and/or speak with your parents about your hair loss. Fasting won't cure hair loss, as far as I know. It can make it worse, especially if you drop weight quickly. Please, find someone to speak to about this.
