Blog: The Master Cleanse Express
Like many trips, women have cultivated the art of bringing along more than we really need. I have impressed my friends and family by packing "light" but impress them even more by packing up close to everything one could possibly want or desire for a journey, AND making it look easy...ggg
The Master Cleanse trip is no different and after a previous long cleanse, and many shorter ones, I feel I have come up with a list of things which would make any Master Cleanser feel more "prepared".
Blackstrap Molasses
This is used by diabetics as an alternative to Maple Syrup but also comes in handy for extra energy and can be used if your body becomes too acidic. The recipe for an alkalizing drink can be found here: http://curezone.com/forums/m.asp?f=425&i=1032#i

Yogi Ginger tea

Yogi Peach detox tea
http://www.yogitea.com/Organic-Tea/Tea.asp?Tea_ID=HF16
Celestial Seasonings Sleepy Time Tea
(this is my favorite mint blend, great for evening relaxing)
http://www.goodnessdirect.co.uk/cgi-local/frameset/detail/373963.html
Ginseng Tea
(especially good for calming menstrual cycle woes)
http://www.asiachi.com/aboutginseng.html
Essiac 4-Herb tea
I really missed this on my last cleanse and since it is an herbal tonic which amps up the immune system, I am including an ounce a day.
(an interview with Dr. Marijah McCain)

Drinking straws
Drinking straws are beneficial to use while sipping your lemonade and helps prevent the acid from the lemons from damaging your teeth. It helps you sip slower too rather than *gulping* your drinks.
Pure Goji Juice

HealthStep

Boudreaux's Butt Paste
There are other ointments for treating tender bums...including Mineral Oil, Witch Hazel, Aloe Vera, but my favorite is Butt Paste!
http://www.buttpaste.com/
Enema Bag
While not recommended for use with the Master Cleanse, many have found an enema to be useful in stopping a detox headache and also to clean the lower bowel.
http://curezone.com/cleanse/bowel/default.asp
Body Brush
Tampico is my favorite brand, and I have successfully kept this habit
since my last cleanse when I discovered the Joy of Bodybrushing.

Skin-brushing ebook
http://www.racingsmarter.com/health/natural/skin_brushing.htm
Pascalite Clay
This is great for footbaths and facials. If you are detoxing on your face, a mask of this, for 5-10 minutes, will help exacerbate the detox and healing period. Also very beneficial if you ever get bitten by a Brown Recluse Spider!
http://www.pascalite.ca/
Sitz bath
Sitz baths can be very healing for a sore bum or for detoxing.
Warm for healing, cold for detoxing.
http://www.essentialoils.co.za/sitz-bath.htm
Deodorant
Anti-perspirant deodorant is counter-productive in the Master Cleanse, so do not use them. You can use a deodorant which preferrably does not have aluminum in them.
I like these two the best for me.
Thai Crystal Deodorant Stone

Kiss My Face Liquid Rock Deodorant
http://www.veganessentials.com/catalog/kiss-my-face-liquid-rock-deodorant-.htm
Toothbrush
I like the Radius Toothbrush since it has a nice wide head perfect for my Oil of Oregano and paste or powder!
http://www.radiustoothbrush.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=2
Toothpaste & Toothpowder
I like those with essential oil or the powder which has sea salt
and baking soda in it along with peppermint oil. Here are two of my favorite brands.
Burts Bee Lavender Mint Toothpaste

Ipsab Toothpowder

Mouthwash

Tongue Scraper
http://www.drugstore.com/qxp44438_333181_sespider/breath_remedy/tongue_scrape...
Oregano Oil
Oregano Oil is great to use for detoxing in a bath, a few drops in a bath. Caution must be used to not get it in your eyes however. I also use Oil of Oregano on my toothbrush for additional way to kill bacteria and to strengthen my gums.

Sunflower Oil
I have decided to give "oil-pulling" a chance. People use it orally to detox, and Curezone has a forum where you can find info and share experiences.

Hot Water Bottle
Sometimes, you just feel cold or crampy and a hot water bottle
can be a girl's best friend!

Probiotic
These are very beneficial during your post-fast breaking period.
Some eat yogurt, I prefer using Primal Defense Probiotic blend.

Books!
I dug out a pile to read but those which inspire and encourage
are kept close at hand!
Louise Hay "Everyday Positive Thinking"

Citrus Juicer
There are many options for juicing lemons from using hand reamers to using Champions Juicers. I like this simple Black and Decker one which is easy
to use and clean.
Strainer
Strainers are very useful in separating the lemon juice and the pulp. You can use the pulp in the cleanse for additional cleansing, but many have found it tends to jump start digestion and cravings for food.
Wheatgrass
I have been growing and juicing wheatgrass this spring and summer and want to continue this. I use a Samson Wheatgrass Juicer which I love!

Trampoline
Trampolines are great for moving lymph in the system and can also
be used for catching some sun which is very beneficial for the body.

Chi Machine
Chi or Swing Machines are also used for moving lymph and I have found
it is fabulous for helping facilitate the Salt Water Flush "kicking in".

Zapper- I use the Terminator II to help with parasite control & general well being!

Purple Plate
This is an energizing device and I like keeping my extra bottle
of water on top of it!

Inversion Table
Inverting is great for many reasons. Moving lymph again is one
of my favorite goals, and I find it decompressing and relaxing.

Body Blades
I like Body Blades because they encourage "Core" stability.
Low impact...and easy to use!

Well, this is the most of it...there may be new discoveries along the way.
If you have any great suggestions from your own cleansing experience,
please feel to share. I am in an experimenting mood!
be happy, be well,

- Rhassoul by Totoro

Hey Zoebess! Wow, that was lots of work...and appreciated by all of us. THANKS!!!!You mentioned a clay that you use for facials, etc. I use Rhassoul clay, which can be used as a soap, mask, or shampoo (I haven't tried it in my hair yet, though.) I really like it.
Here's something about it off the internet:
What is Rhassoul Clay?
Rhassoul clay is an ancient clay which was formed under the Atlas Mountains in Morocco. The clay deposits are deeply buried which makes them very difficult to obtain.
Rhassoul clay has a very long history of use in beauty care. It was used in ancient Rome and Egypt by the nobility. Even today it remains a favorite with upscale spas and resorts worldwide.
Rhassoul clay is a smectic or swelling clay. Smectites are three-layer clay minerals. They consist of two layers of interconnected silica-tetrahedrons which enclose a central Metal hydroxide -octahedron layer (M=Al, Fe, Mg and others). A water layer is sandwiched between the layers. The silicate layers have a slightly negative charge. This weak charge absorbs cations such as sodium, calcium and others in the natural state.
Rhassoul clay is very rich in trace minerals. These minerals detoxify the skin by exchanging themselves for a variety of compounds including toxic metals and polar organic (oily) compounds.
An essential characteristic of all smectite minerals is their ability to absorb tremendous amounts of water and other liquids into their sheet structures. This gives rhassoul clay extraordinary swelling properties. This combination of liquid and cation absorption and exchange is responsible for the unique properties of rhassoul clay.
I bought mine from the same place where I got the HealthStep (Momentum 98, in Ohio). I've seen Rhassoul clay online for way, way more $$$ than I spent. But where I got it, it is just chunks of clay in a glass jar that you need to mix with water, while the expensive sites have pre-made solutions of Rhassoul, mixed with essential oils, etc.

Wow, I was thinking of ordering another HealthStep for a *special Dad* and maybe I can order some.
Have you tried some of it on your spectacular facial detox??? I was thinking about that as I sat on the throne this morning....
letting go...ggg
I love clays almost as much as I do salts. So thanks for the heads up on one I am not familiar with.
Many blessings,
Zoe
-_-
ps. what was the name of the place you told me to find the healthstep?? I did not remember it as Momentum but had found it easily online and then called. Great people!

Try http://www.momentum98.com/
Actually, I'm planning on using the clay on my face later today. I haven't yet...not found the time/motivation, probably because I'm more interested in letting it develop as it will and I'm more amused than horrified to stop it, but as long as it's not getting better, a little helping it along tonight probably won't hurt. I used the Rhassoul every other day during my last MC and had more fabulous skin than ever (well, since I can recall.) You put more water to it than you might think, as it really does expand and make oddly textured, almost soapy silky stuff. And it dries quickly on the face. Very nice. I think it was like $14 a jar, or something like that, not over $20 anyway.

Thanks so much. I have been using my pascalite clay for a mask...it mixes up like you say, so smooth and silky and feels so good. I used to get a clay mask product with ginseng in it but the company stopped making it. Thus my hunt for new clays.
I actually began my clay exploration when a Crystal digging friend of mine came across some rare Lavender Clay, and gifted me with about a half cup. He had found it himself and it had really turned him into a clay buff...ggg.
Thanks for the link too! Dad's day just around the corner, so best call next week.
blessings!

I have been oil pulling prior to my swf in the morning and it really assists in getting the mouth clean . I did come accross a post in the forum that suggested only using glass bottles because the plastic can leach and get in the oil , just thought I would share that with you .
I think your page is pnenominal!!
