  • Last day of the SAD lifestyle   by  RedFizz     18 y     4,317       5 Messages Shown       Blog: Fasting & Detox: Juicing for first time

Today I am going to the grocery store to buy my fruits and vegetables.  I am so nervous about how everything is going to taste.  Am I going to like it?  Will I be able to stand it?

I am also afraid of the withdrawl symptoms I will experience.  Any advice?  Any heads up info to watch out for?  I have been through sugar withdrawl symptoms before (tremors, head ache, anxiousness) and I will have to go through those again.  However, I am reading Sugar Blues by Dufty, and that is helping me.

Tomorrow I plan to do nothing, but read and relax.

My first goal is to make it through three days.  So if I make it through Monday, then I can work on goal two (making it through day 10) starting on Tuesday.

Any tips on whether I should excercise?

Tonight I will throw away all of my food so I am not tempted.  Boy, I will regret that by Sunday!

I will probably report back on Sunday (day two).  Here we go.....!

It might be easier if you ease into the fast - and have a gentler transition from SAD to fasting. Maybe cut out sugar, caffeine, and processed few for a week, then have only raw foods for a week, then try the juice fast. You might be in for some extreme detox in the next few days. But I appreciate your desire to go into it full speed ahead. I think if I had come upon this juice fast info while SAD I would have wanted to do it, too.
Some tips, if you like to eat a particular fruit or veggie, then you will probably like it juiced. I think one of the easiest juices to drink is carrot apple. It's mild and refreshing. I like almost any combo of fruit juice, because I love fruit. Veggies are a little trickier. Just experiment and have fun. Enjoy it. Update here often, it helps.

Yes, you will love the juices!! Grapes, apples, oranges, pineapple, sweet potatoes. The veggies aren't as good, but dress them up with carrots and apples and they are good too.

If you can exercise, then do it. I always feel better when I do.

Detoxing, you'll go through it. Headaches, body aching, coated tongue...no big deal! Get through that and then you'll see days of happiness and energy!!

YOU CAN DO IT!! Don't give up before you see any good days. Because then you may never do it again.
