Blog: Observations
Tonight I ran into the store for a few things (I go to the store a lot - I never really "stock up." I LOVE the grocery store! ha ha).
The line was a little bit long, so I ended up having a light chat with the woman behind me. I really hadn't even noticed what she was buying, then she said, "I see you got all nourishing things. I am getting these things for somebody else." I looked in her basket and she had a carton of refrigerated Tropicana orange juice, a bunch of bananas, and a clear plastic container of bakery sugar cookies with pink icing. She added, "He asked for the orange juice and the bananas. I got the cookies so he'd eat."
Well first of all, this is the healthiest purchase I've posted so far. The bananas and orange juice are pretty decent. Obviously the cookies are bad, but 2 out of 3 isn't so bad.
Now this person had requested the 2 healthy items. This lady purchased cookies unrequested (out of concern?). Will this person eat them? What made this lady think think that it would be good to give someone else cookies? Why not some fresh organic apples or some other fruit to go along with the bananas?
Is this person sick? Disabled? Skinny? Why is she concerned?
I wish I knew!!!!
I do know one pattern: People buy junk food as a gift to other people.

Looks like she had a nice day for visiting the Great Wall.
I have been two times, both amazing experiences. The first time was cloudy and although it was beautiful that way, it didn't make for very good photographs. The second time, however, was perfectly clear and we could see so far and the pictures turned out very crisp. Going to the Great Wall is a mind-boggling experience!
I am actually not a very good observer. I am usually OBLIVIOUS! (that should really be the title of my blog, but it's hard to write about things you did NOT notice!) I try to be observant but it certainly does not come naturally.

I think many of us fit into that discription.... As an engineer I have to continually go back and check the facts... Congrats Lady.... I have been many places but not to the Great Wall... Keep writing; your posts are neat and challenge the mind....
I have been think this romantic short story idea of yours, and maybe we will be able to get something going.... I may have another Lady; ghost writer who can help... I would lean on your guidance and direction for the female view on this project...
Now don't say No yet... We should give it a try, never know we all end up millionaires, or something... See ya... Kermie

The very wierdest thing is, he ASKED for OJ and Bananas. So you think to yourself, I sure wish he'd eat more. What would he like. Lemme think....oh SNAP! Cookies!
If he's asking for all healthy stuff, where the heck did the cookie idea come from? leeeeeeeeeft field
