I see so many "beauty" products that feature one or several food ingredients. Face masks, lotions, shampoos, conditioners with "lemon" "green tea" "papaya" "tomato" "mint" "cucumber" "melon" "avocado" "orange" etc.
When you look at the ingredients, it is almost always a conglomeration of chemicals. These food ingredients are #15 or 20 on the list.
I think it's a gimmick! What is that tiny amount of food, preserved and mixed with chemicals going to really do?
Call me crazy, but when I eat something I like to rub a little on my face. For example if I eat papaya, I rub some on my face. If I drink green tea, I put a little on my face. If I am cutting a cucumber or a carrot, I take a slice and rub it on my face. You get the picture... This way it is FRESH and it is flying SOLO. Plus I am eating it. I figure this way it has the greatest chance to do its work.
The important thing is to remember to wash it off when you leave the house. Sometimes I forget. Green tea is not very noticeable when you put it on, but once it dries out it can leave some greenish brown stains and weird lines!
Why pay for a few drops of "cucumber extract" mixed with mystery sludge? Let's go for the real thing! And while we're at it, we can make our own beauty products.
We are not easily fooled.
