Hypothetical situation....
~ Project Utopia ~
Let's say you were given the opportunity to build a specific style of community/city that attracts a specific style of people. You may go as far as to hand pick the seeds (people) of this project. What kind of people would you want to attract and why? What would the community be like? What would it look like, layout, etc? Explain its philosophies, structure, etc. If you like draw a picture/s of what this place looks like. How does this place feel? What is a typical day like in your utopia? How does this place support all its members? Name your city/community. This is only a rugh guideline. Please take it as far as you feel you want to.

a sprinkling of energy healers, and some of blog-eers. The community would be literate and heart centered. There would be a flat democracy, with 3 fold conflict resolution...
The members would each add their written talents to whatever subject was decided on for that week- so we all could learn to create prose without a particular inspiration- but the inspiration of the presence of each other
then of course we all would write to our inspirations which is easy and seems most already can do...
Is this a fleshly community or a cyberspace community?

First, I would plan a conference for all CureZone participants. Central location, whatever that would look like....would have to get an idea where everyone is and how far they'd be willing/able to travel, and what time of year they'd prefer.
At the conference, the community would come together. All CureZoners interested in forming the community would meet regularly during the 3-4 day conference. The infrastructure of the community would be formed and the selection process would take place naturally at the conference. Leaders would be chosen through a democratic process.
Of course there would be many other aspects and dimensions to the conference.
I think the idea of a yearly conference of CureZoners is every bit as exciting as a community forming, and I think both could easily become a reality. I'm willing to help make this happen.
Thanks for listening.

Oh I have dreamt of a kind of paradise utopian community for years!!
Let's see....I would want it to consist of like-minded people...all awake and clear. Not sure about listing names from curezone, I'm sure those who fit into this catagory know who they are, and they would be welcome!! In fact, I so look forward to finally meeting you and matching the names with the faces!
This would be a place without dogma of any kind....nada...for this would be an empowered society. No slavery of any kind!! Freedom to be me, and not to feel "different." WOW!!
Nothing but coherency from everything to the natural materials the homes are made of, to the clothes we wear, the food we eat, the BEAUTY that surrounds us......with lakes, ponds, animals, birds, lots and lots of trees, perhaps a nearby mountain or ocean.....beauty is a major priority on my list!!
Recreation centers for such things as our choice of exercise, yoga, computers, perhaps a library, art center.....and wonderful ways to care for, entertain and educate the children....
The land is so beautiful...pure....pristine....feels energetically exquisite!! Oh my...and imagine no emf's!!!
Harmonious living....in every sense! Sign me up!

Hmmm..how creative...(fun!)
The buildings would be architecturally creative, very similar to the old buildings you see in the downtown sections of cities. Not one would be the same. They would have high ceilings with or with out embedded design. Some would be very colorful, others would emit warmth and earth element colours. (nothing like you see today in modern architecture where everything looks the same and has no thought put in to the design)
There would be room for lots of grass, trees, rocks, rivers, streams, lakes, hills and mountainous regions. There would lots of flowers, all kinds and all colors. Organically grown and absolutely no GMO! There would be lots of fruit trees and farm areas for grains, and veggies. They too would be organically farmed. All plants, animals, fruit, veggies, grains and legumes would be naturally farmed. There would be no junk food and no cravings for it.
Hemp would be the #1 crop grown for papers and fabrics. Water, windmills and solar panels would produce the energy - absolutely no nuclear power plants. The vehicles would run on clean fuel, perhaps even solar powered.
All four seasons would be apparent and necessary. Only within those seasons there would not be extreme heat in the summer or extreme cold in the winter. Just the necessary temperature and weather changes to keep nature balanced. There would still be storms, rain, snow, thunder and lightening. Only not to the harsh life threatening extremes. The key word would be balance.
The people would live harmoniously. Everyone would be different, very different and unique. The differences would be a blessing and not a curse. There would still be all avenues of belief. Even though I'm a Bible believing Christian, I would not want everyone created the same with the same beliefs. I would want people to come to know the Lord on their own, by the Lord drawing them near to Him. No force, fear tactics etc. Just the Love of God drawing people to Him.
Even though all these people would be very different with different spiritual and culteral beliefs there would be a deep underlying respect for their fellow neighbour. Not to force beliefs upon them, but just to live, and be concerned with living their own life and the fruit of that positively affecting those around them.

- Sometimes I Just Want A Simple Life by Liora Leah

| Sometimes I Just Want A Simple Life
I just wanna have a simple life
I want to live in nature somewhere, in a nice, unmowed grassy meadow, in a house of adobe, shaped round like a hogan, round windows to let in the light, glass roof to view the stars at night no closer than a leisurely 20 minute walk to the nearest neighbor, so it will be QUIET so tired of the noises of my suburban neighbors in my rectangle house on a tiny plot of land so tired of the buzz and whirr of lawnmowers and noxious leaf blowers and cars honking and chortling past my window so tired of the dirt and the smog and the water-wasters who have to have their nice manicured green lawns, even in the desert of Southern California maybe live in an intentional eco-community, with community gathering rooms, one for the communal library, one for the communal TV/DVD/VCR room, one for the communal game room, one for the communal computer room all the electronic devices out of my house, all the electronic machinery run with solar energy maybe I'd keep my own laptop? No, even that would be shared communally anytime anyone wanted to use an electronic gadget or view TV/etc, they would swap one hour of use time with one hour of community kitchen duty, or one hour of clean-up time, or one hour of community gardening time, or one hour of reading-to-the-toddlers/preschoolers time there'd be no limits on book reading there'd be no limits on meditating or praying there'd be no limits on walking barefoot in nature there'd be no limits on dancing naked in the moonlight there'd be no limits on star-gazing there'd be no limits on art-making, or music-making, or poetry-writing, or love-making
just a simple life Liora Leah |

- Utopia is "home" by janaki

Is it not?
We create our world at each moment. When I close my eyes it is the same.
The feeling of "home" I have had during relatively few moments of my life seems to me to be the most utopic I can imagine. I could not imagine changing a single variable during those moments.
Though generally home involves a tropical climate, less work, no expectations of reward, or expectations of my own or others behaviour. Work should only be what we love and then the duties of life which are a natural projection...cooking, bathing, caring for others, cleaning, devotional acts.

- My community by Wrenn

This would be my *foundational requirements*
Any community participants must first and foremost
be completely vegan / no dairy / no soy.
Raw foodists, cooking vegans ok , np.
I would want to start with about 7-10 acres of land as
the community group area.
within that area,
I would want a series of buildings.
2 *clubhouses with functional kitchens,
each supplied with a few basics common use items,
such as masticating juicer , spirolizer,
blender, waterless cookware, etc.
each clubhouse would have a long group eating unit,
and also several couches sitting areas
and be for group activites as folks wanted to use them .
These clubhouses would be solar powered,
and would have natural hemp furniture,
carpets etc,
(as non toxic an area as can be sustained.)
ionized air, community bulletin boards
(to share or sell stuff, or even for kids to post
recent artworks)
The next structure would be a *health care one*
In which, there would be a room for a colonic clinic,
and also , a *laying on of stones, etc healing forms,
The next structure would be a good fitness center,
with rebounders and other healthful exercise units.
within this structure would be a *yoga room /
mirrored workout room combo
for those that might be pursusing martial arts
or dance modalities,
and attached to it a good sauna/ spa
I would like to see a small reading library ,
where folks could sit and read group shared or donated books,
articles, and even check them out for private reading
in their own homes.
Several computers, printers and copy machines,
would be part of the library.
I would like to see all these stuctures arranged
in a nice pattern over this 7-10 acre, foundation ,
and in the middle of them ,
have a natural swimming pond with even a waterfall,
that would be non toxically sustained,
and of course a couple rope swings so folks could
swing out over the water and jump in *smile*.
Fruit trees, flagstone or cobblestone pathways,
leading to the outlying stuctures would create a
beautiful park like setting,
and also eating/ screened areas
for picnics, and well maintained,
lawn for those that wanted to sit on ground,
and relax or bring out their own chairs.
And of course a playground for kids,
with child and adult swingsets as well...
small nature like walkways,
and a path surrounding the entire area
outside area for rollerblading/biking interests.
There would be bird feeders/bathes, beautiful flowers,
chimes hanging from trees, outdoor lighting,
and a nice oriental style meditation area as well ,
with a koi pond.
This would be the foundational group/share area.
_____________________________________________--
housing:
Lots of land ,
for sale or rental,
interent hook ups,
water/sewer hook ups,
electric/ gas etc.
Folks could build whatever they chose
for their own creative choice,
of a home.
(or camp on land, build a teepee,
whatever they chose to create.)
They could buy or rent
as large or as small a lot as they chose.
Since some might choose to want a small house,
but a large personal garden.
Each would be responsible for the upkeep of their own property,
as any landowner would be.
Since we are talking as if I had an limitless $ to spend on my community,
I would build several *apartments houses*
near each other but unattached,
say 50 about.
(all apts would have filters on incomming water needs.)
and offer them for rent,
for those that did not want to build homes of their own.
There would be a group garden area provided as well,
where folks could pick out x spot to be a personal growth area.
since some might like to grow herbs,
others veggies, and some just flowers.
Only rule: MUST be organically grown/ no pesticides.
Adjacent to this would be a *greenhouse*
for winter growing or specific green house needed environments,
for certain plants.
A *berry patch* *laugh*
A grape vine patch.
Any patch that anyone might want to include!
______________________________________
Personalities I would like to be a part of my community ?
Those that are world healing aware...
and are willing to combine their personal shared energies
towards the goal of rebuilding *love* and healing back into our planet.
It would not be *religiously required that everyone attend each session,
but I would like to see a combined overall routine of say 3 nights a week,
for 30 minutes,
that as many as possible meet in union to emanate into different areas
of out planet these healing vibrations.
Once in attendance, you would be expected to stay the full 30 minutes,
so that no distractions are created.
After the first 30 minutes, a break would be taken so that those that
wished to leave could do so ,
and those that wished to continue a bit longer could then be left
to focus on other areas that they feel might be important as well.
I think that even a good screen viewer would be useful,
as a focus aid,
say if focusing on a earthquake destroyed area,
we would have a picture of that region up,
and alternate screen views as we progressed focusing
on other areas.
suggestions from anyone could be submitted,
but a routine overview pattern adhered to first,
then suggestions offered would be addressed as well
within the first 30 minutes as time allowed,
or by group vote that this should be a nights high priority
focus / or in the next alternate followup after first 30 minutes.
_________________________________________
Location?
Close to a surrounding community
that offered good colleges, arts, organic outlets,
and entertainment centers so that all would have easy access
to all the wonderful things available in normal social needs.
I would like to have 2 *transportation units*
for those without cars,
that would make trips into town,
say 3 -4 times a week,
so that no one would be left out of access
to needs from a city.
a small fee to help cover insurance cost and fuel cost would
be expected , but certainly lower income persons would not be
*disallowed this means* since it is of vital importance for
their needs as well.
private visitors would always be welcome , to learn and grow,
but not to create chaos.
most personal visitors I would like to see mainly confined to a persons
own home, and the rules for no smoking/ no meat/dairy and other toxic things
adhered to in group areas.
and from visitors in general,
most esp the smoking not allowed in rental apts,
Pets ok , as long as folks contain responsibly, and pick up the
poops *laugh * out of respect for others.
____________________
I would be avidly against outsiders attending the group healing sessions
globally , unless this person was first interviewed and got group approval
to do so .
It would have to be a full vote agreement not just majority,
since an unrooted person could detract from our goals.
____________________________________________________
once a week or 2 times a month , we could have an *open house*
buffet style group meal where visitors
would be welcome to come see and learn
what we would be trying to create.
It would be like a potluck dinner buffet,
and each food bringer could bring a recipe index card,
so that those that had personal opinons towards certain foods.
would know what was in the dish.
This would be great also to open creative sharings of recipes,
since we could easily make a copy of the recipe and add it
to our own files.
I think this would be a super way to allow regular folks
a view of alternative lifestyles,
and taste treats, and hopefully grow a bit by interacting with
higher vibrational persons, as a door opening of awareness
for themselves.
_____________________________________
If there were healer/ sessions -- needs persons,
then office space structures could be created for them as well ,
on the 7-10 acre, foundational community space.
I would have several caretakers employed.
for groundskeeper,community janitorial needs
and maintenance workers for the apartments,
in either a barter deal with free apt, in return for services,
or on pay, and they can rent
(if want to be a part of the community )
or drive in from nearby city as a employee.
(esp if they were non vegan,
they would not be allowed to live there at all )
_________________________________________
no one would be superior to any other.
no one religion would be dis- allowed,
however.. no disagreements would be tolerated..
ie;
christians could not go around putting down
those that believe in the godship of self.
And certainly no religious *pandering would be tolerated.
Any one that even attempted this would be asked to leave the community.
As far as group global healing sessions,
NO religious talk would be tolerated period
We would be there simply as a group ,
sending our vibrations out to the world.
interjections as thank you jesus etc/
would immeditately result in being asked to leave the session.
This kind of verbalization is fine under other circumstances,
but would be very distracting in a focused healing group
emanations-merging, unity of oneness beaming out in one big energy
burst of pure love into the universe.
this is far bigger than religion and cubicaled mindset/
labels, and personal *identifiers*
_________________________________________
I guess that is it...
The rest would be up to each individual to pick and choose
how they would create their home environment,
on their own lots , or within their own apts/
That is my basic groundlines for a community.
Ps: added notation:
I would also like to see a small auditorium,
for guest speakers,
hopefully like such persons as;
Eckhart Tolle,
Icke, Andreas, Dr.Sha.
to name a few..
and have the speakers audio taped and video taped.
(with their permission of course)
and a website set up that could broadcast interview,
health related speakers,
political related interviews, etc,
and spritual related speakers.
attached to the conference center,
would be a small broadcast station,
as fully equiped as possible
for creating nice professional
interview/ podcasts, musical sharings etc.
Thanks for the question.
Love,
Ami Joi Benton

Utopia: An ideal place or state. Any vision of a socially and politically perfect society. From Greek roots, it derives its meaning from the words outopia, meaning "no place" and eutopia, meaning " a place where everything is right." In a sense, a utopian land in fiction becomes both a place that never quite existed as it is portrayed and a place where everything seems perfect. It is an imagined world.
Utopia like Janaki suggested is "Home" it is not a physical location so much as a place inside, devoid of illusion that I try to project into outer reality. No social or political problems because these distinctions no longer exist within me to exist without. Home can be a state where I can live out of a backpack, yet am perfectly comfortable in that I am at peace with myself and therefore with all others to the exclusion of none. I have experienced "Home" lately and can attest it is not beyond my grasp to live within and yet without. Trying to achieve that feeling for 12 seconds NOW

Won't You Be My Neighbor? Umbra on co-housing If you've ever lived in an apartment building, you know the odd mix of intimacy and distance it entails: Yes, I know you go to the bathroom every day at 5:54 a.m. and wear that pink sweater way too often, but no, I don't know your name. While some people are just fine with this set-up, others think it's downright spooky. Today, a reader wonders how to go about setting up a community-living situation that's more friendly and more eco-friendly. Advice maven Umbra Fisk dwells on the question and constructs a fine answer.

hi,
yeah i have though of this alot. okay, first self sustaining. we would grow all the food and generate all of the power we needed right on locaiton. this is more possible than it sounds.
then it would be very very family and community oriented with an emphasis on kids and education.
third, lots of creative endeavors - hand crafted things, art, literature, lots of story telling, music music and more music.
and of course lots of different races and ethnic groups represented.
no career obsessed, get ahead at any cost, dog eat dog, survival of the fittest type bs.
i could go on.
